That's a good point. There really isn't that much time between the releases to allow the console to mature. PSX had been around for a few years even before PS2 was mentioned in a public domain. Now PS2's been out for less than a year, and people are talking about PS3 in a big way. This is going to make console gaming like PC gaming in that there's a perpetual sense of planned obsolescence. I thought the appeal of console gaming was the stable hardware platform.
However, this could be a sign of changing times, an evolution of console gaming, if you will. In that sense, it's interesting to see how console gaming will change from here.
And what about parental negligence? It is in no way right for a parent to leave a child to fend for his/herself in this world. However, with children treated like adults the parents can legally abandon their child. Children are not small, short, dumb adults. Adults are relatively inert in emotional and intellectual development as compared to children, where the development strongly depends on environment provided by children.
While InstantCool makes a valuable point that the government should stay away from doing certain parts of the parents' job for them, a total separation of parenting and state is a very bad idea. The government presently has laws telling parents what they can/cannot do. These are good. These are the laws that outlaw child abuse, molestation, etc. However, I do agree that the government should stay out of the parents' business when it comes to teaching moral values. This is the job of the parents, and the government should not be expected to make up for what the parents lacked the initiative to do.
Maybe open-source software developers have a job outside of the open source development, but they're looking for something different to do. It is also possible that their jobs are non-development related, and they'd like to start development as a job. Last but not least, there's always students who develop as a hobby who could be taken in after they graduate.
In any case, it's definitely something you want to do. The biggest benefit that comes to my mind is this: these guys will write a linux port of your game IN THEIR FREE TIME. IIRC, that's what happened with Neverwinter Nights (it might be some other game, but this did happen). That will benefit the Linux community in huge leaps and bounds. Everybody knows the OS that wins is the one with the most games on it.
Sure, you might get some open source purists, but it's not like they're going to boycott your product because you're trying to give open source developers jobs. I don't see any downsides to this, in fact, I think it's one of the best ideas I've heard in a while.
What's really happening is that the show is exposing the truth about what's really going on in the world, and the Man is trying to shut them up. The Truth is out there!
Hold on a second, somebody's knocking on my door...
The IDs are only for using internet cafes. I'd say this is far from kissing anonymity forever. To say this sets a dangerous precedent that could lead to the departure of anonymity of Mumbai citizens on the internet would be more accurate. Either way, I agree it's not a good thing. There are better ways to stop unwanted pr0n spam. Issuing IDs for internet use is just a knee-jerk reaction that will hurt more than help.
Man, I tried the ASUS see-through drivers on NPRQuake, and it didn't help my deathmatch skills at all! I tried the "wireframe" mode in the sketch rendering mode, and it didn't help me 0wnz anybody! What a scam.
I think this should be fairly common sense. If somebody has a vulnerability on their system, notify them of it. You don't have to break into the box, obviously. Just tell them that you were following up on them as potential clients, and you found that no-brainer vulnerabilities were left unfixed on their machines. You don't have to do it as a sales pitch saying how much better you are, but rather that as former potential clients, you were looking at how they were doing. If they decide going with you would be a better idea, that's great, but if they merely get on their web masters' asses for being lazy, then oh well.
For reals. Rappers who used to be in the game like me know that you gotta keep it real. If you don't got the talent to come up with fresh and just bite your styles, then you're just playa hating. Come back when you're ready to be a rapper.
But I'm so used to counting in Base 10! I mean, I've got counting in binary and hexadecimal down pretty well, but.9? How the hell do you count in base.9?
Not quite. A French press is better than a paper filter. Behind the French press is the vacuum brewer. And espresso isn't for just any kind of coffee; the beans are roasted longer.

Now we're gonna get "Peace, Love, and PS3" on our sidewalks.
for god's sake, will somebody talk about the pr0n possibilities?
Really? Hmm, I'd better test it then. Wait, no, NO!!!
I thought as long as you take breaks from typing every 45 minutes or so with a pr0n break, your wrists should be okay. Or at least one of them.

We should shave our heads, as afflicted cancer victims.
Does it really sound fair? Or are you just saying that so you can say mildly something relevent in your fp?

Oh, I get it now. Up till now, I thought he was talking about white people.
I don't know if this has been tried before, but what about the strange binary code in the HTML code posted by Red King in the SPCB page?

I'd like it a lot better if I could play Quake3 like this, though. I wonder how my Snoopy model would look rendered like this..
The sound quality would be absolutely terrible, to start. Computer audio components generally get brutally low signal to noise ratios.
The mafia must be blocking the web site, too; I can't reach it!
...
Oh wait, I get it.

Worst episode ever!
