If you dont think so next time the FBI comes to your door becuase the latest nasty virus that cost companies billions of dollars in one day becuase your wifi was open to all.
Dont think you'll get off squeaky clean becuase "You didnt know".
If your system is hacked and the virus came that way then they can let you off. But I doubt that just leaving the door open to anonymous cyberterrorists is going to win you any friends in the court room.
Even the original Nintendo back in the 80's had the same issues and Nintendo warned back then it could have effects. I'm assuming that this lawsuit is from someone who did not know of a pre-existing condition and had a seizure.
Funny I'd think they'd be thankful they had it in the comfort of their living room near people instead of when they see a electronic billboard or police lights in a fast moving car they're driving.
First page of any game I've ever played Nintendo, PS/PS2, Xbox, Sega, and all the other assorted Ataris and such mentioned that their games might possibly cause seizures. It's play at your own risk folks not a excuse for a get rich scheme.
If the corporate HQ refused to give your money. Sue the shirts off their backs.. maybe then they'll learn to respect the law, and the victims of theft.
I dont think it's right for them to expect us to save every internet transaction to collect taxes on the items. It's the responsibility of the vendor to collect said tax not the purchaser.
Someone in one of those states should file a lawsuit against their state for such stupid tax collection.
legal incentives for service providers to cooperate with copyright owners in deterring the unauthorized storage and transmission of copyrighted materials.
Sounds like a veiled threat to those who seek to keep their customers anonymous against the rulings from the courts of the US allowing ISP's to keep their customers anonymous.
In fact all of section 29 seems to hint at giving copyright holders the ability to not only Sue the originating ISP but any other ISP/Telco/CLEC/RBOC etc for even passing off the traffic to their peers. IANAL but that seems to be one of the worst parts of this agreement.
If you move you just update your billing address.. if you dont care that your new neighbors will have to dial long distance to speak with you then it's fine.
If you want it to be a local number for where you're moving to then yes you'll have to change your number. The current switching network used worldwide Landline/Wireless will not allow what you're asking to be done. It would be chaos. Until all the SS7 traffic is converted into some sort of IP based system then it might be possible but until then I'd say try verizon wireless. They have a ez move program.
Is it any wonder that they announced this before the opening bell? Autozone's stock is now drifting lower. Darl's probably got a order placed already to snap up some low priced stock.
I call Bullshit either way.. when will the madness end.. Cant someone file a injunction to shut SCO up until this is proven in court?
What's MS will probably do is bastardize XML the way it did HTML and make things incompatible with other operating systems.. So they can point out MS software can deal with spam while other OS's cannot.
In my experience any company that arbitrarily forces you to change especially in a working situation without any good reason is heading to the grave anyways. In fact it's more likely they want it that way so they can do remote admin so they wouldnt be needing you anyways. And the first time you get a nasty virus and your customers suffer becuase of it they're probably going to walk anyways.
A company I wont mention has made a system that can read what you say in several languages then present to the tech support person what is basically compared to a ranked google search with percentages of revelance attached to each subject. The tech support person is supposed to read the highest ranked one verbatim to the customer. Of course "We dont support that" probably comes 50 times more than a real answer.
This is the reason I dont buy my computers I build them.. I teach those around me who I build computers for the basics of adding and removing stuff if needed and how usb and the connector color coding works. They're largely on their own past that but I do encourage them to grab a few dummies books if it's too hard.
Sadly my mother is too damn lazy to even read one she just calls me. Maybe I should say "I dont support that"
If I was his editor I'd slap him on the back of the head for wasting his time. I've rarely even at gamestop seen new games in their boxes except todays games that come in DVD cases.
I'll do him a favor though. I wont sell my copy of KOTOR that the cat scratched up the box. Maybe then he can rest in peace.
With the current dismal speeds of broadband in the US and antiquated pricing structures for mass bandwidth on the backbones I doubt even MicroSoft could pressure the DSL and Cable providers to provide more robust links to homes. Players no doubt would rather save to their systems than wait a few minutes of their playtime watching a counter tick away while uploading the data and for their friends to download the data.
Even on 768k DSL it takes up to 5 minutes or longer in some cases to download necessary game patches to even allow online play on XboxLive. Until the broadband speeds pony up to the challenge I think the next Xbox and even the PS3 will be hard pressed to provide the stated functionality sought by gamer for online gaming.
Scores of New Mexicans were found dead today after a deadly spread of SARS. Medical Examiners and the CDC have determined the disease was spread through the interlock systems on many cars.
Search sveasoft on google and look up their aftermarket firmware..
Most if not all user agreements for any software, anti-virii, Windows and it's related software usually contain:
In no way can you hold us responsible for loss of data, damange to your system bla bla bla.. basically use at your own risk.
I'd advise anyone who depends on any kind of software firewall to go out and buy some sort of hardware firewall.
I reccomend Linksys
Those who depend on Windows Firewalling should beware also.. in fact I'm surprised it wasnt that firewall that was exploited in the first place.
Worse if the fact that on shared media broadband such as cable modems they not only will tap the suspect but every user on that segment.
I Want my MTV
The skies belongs to everyone and to put up a message of any type is just some violation on too personal of a level to even describe.

You forget Vodaphone has rolled out Quad Band phones and soon Verizon Wireless will also.

I've been using ATI 4.3 drivers since december IIRC... from their site..
Did this guy just notice???
Now they did release a new version the other day.. I think he's just been out of touch with his drivers.

Maybe we should all just pitch in and buy SCO out.. then ask Novell to OSS it.

Now I just need some BlackJack bubblegum and some old records and I can become HarryHardon!

DrakeLinux sounds just as good. Not sure if the Penguin ever got a name but that would fit it :)
