Everyone would love to see more solar plants but they forget that solar plants simply don't work on the large scale in the north. And as for wind power, have you ever seen flocks of birds fly through these "wind farms"? No you haven't because these wind farms wipeout entire flocks.
Clean energy is a nice dream and a good goal but something that can't be forced.
I don't know how it is in NY but in MN things suck, and the librals have been in charge for a while. MN is one of the 5 most socialized states in america. Almost 50% of you income goes to feeding the government and for what? The roads are perpetually congested. They dems refuse to turn the beltway into a threelane beltway in favor of more mass transit. Mass transit gets just short of half of the transportation budget and services less then 10% of the population. The dems have succeeded in doubling the education budget over the last 10 years and education is getting worse. In the Minneapolis the city council is corrupt. They routinly use extortion to get money out of small business. Three of the them recently were found guilty of raceteering, extortion, and coersion. Use of Emminet Domain is becoming common place for these scum bags. The librals have been in charge of this state for decades now and they have failed. Life is worse for everyone around because of them. I don't know how it is elsewere but here we desperately need right wingers to bring us back to the middle.

He collects campaign funds from Californa when he runs for MN offices. He supports the estate tax, let me see I pay income tax all my life then I pay another tax for the "privlage" of giving my kids money I earned. So money handed down is twice taxed, income and then estate.

Your complaining about everyone elses fear of learning all of us geeks have the same problem. How meny of us see the "check engine" like come on in our car and just hand it over to the mechanic. Everyone here thinks they are so much better then everyone else cause they remeber what ps -ax does.
You assume people need to adapt their life to technology. WRONG, it is that philosopy that keeps linux from making it into heavy home use. Technology should adapt to people not the other way around.
Lots of people have computers only as a fancy typewriter and a websurfing device. They don't want or need to recompile kernals and write custom drivers. They want a stable, easy to use system. Windows is stable enough for the so certianly linux would be. Learning all the linux commands would be a waste of their time. They need an easy to use interface, and it has been our refusal to give them one the keeps M$ on top.
We help M$ every time we say "GUIs are dumb consol is the only way." People have lives and spend time on their hobbies, woodworking, old cars, gardening, whatever. They don't spend time figuring out better ways to use M$Word, they use Word because it is mostly self explainitory.
Why do you defend the consol when it is what keeps the masses from joining us? Do you hate the masses? Is you ego that big that you refuse to help anyone that won't immediately jump to your cause? I tire of all you people thinking your so smart because of your consol, it is what holds linux from the mainstream.

How do you know that the application is doing what it claims? I have done lots of programming in both networking and front end work. In a corp I worked for we devised a Seti@home like app that was required to be installed on most peoples computers in the office. The only thing was that what the user thought our app did was nothing like what it actually did. Given that I am still under a NDA(nondisclosure agreement) I can't say anything more about that but still I don't trust the people. Given they way phrase the license I am not convinced that they have to tell you what they are working on or respect you wishes on what you want you clock cycles to go to.
They may be making themselves filthy rich and taking advantage of the masses but they are doing for a good cause.

So could I get my DNA patented? And if so could I charge a premium at sperm banks or if I got a women pregnent could I sue her for infringing on my patent?
Could I get someone else DNA copywrited and sue them for copywrite infringement when they decide to have kids?
Hypercard is the reason I became a programmer. If not for hypercard I would have never found my love for programming, without it I would be a shapeless drifter bouncing from job to job. If hypercard dies I think I will just cry. Over the years I has ment so much to me. In college many of my peers could have benefited from the fundementals that hypercard taught me when I was a child, loops, variable types, control statements. Hypercard will be missed.
