the problem with this conversation is, that most people haven't heard good electronic or generally mixed music. but almost everyone has heard some of the best classical tunes.
if noone knows, that they are prejudiced, how could they act accordingly?
any better dj can grab his records and improvise and jam with the beats he knows, too.
i was just making the point, that giving him a different setup and unknown records is the same as stealing the drums from your drummer. and this is why your argumentation is wrong.

I'd love to see a DJ sit in on someone else's equipment and unfamiliar records and jam with a rap/hiphop group.
why would anyone do that? it is like telling a drummer: "here, you got some wood, some pieces of metal and a cow. build some drums and jam with us!" the dj's instrument is mostly skills and knowledge of the music he has in his case.
So, what are we in store for in the future. Going to see Synth programmers in concert? He'll come out on stage, take a bow and go and click a mouse, as the computer starts it's sequence. Afterwards the crowd goes wild! "He's the best synth programmer in the country, no one can beat his sequences!"
very obviously, you haven't been to a chemical brothers/underworld/faithless/orbital-concert. the synth is a vital part of their performances. and often there is a blend with classical instruments, that makes for a completely novel experience. great stuff!
be more open to cultural trends is all i can tell you.
I don't think that any true-to-the-heart scientist would like to abolish religion. The fight between science and religion is long since over. You will find more and more people that accept religion as a concept that has a place in human psychology and serves a special need, that everybody has. The need is to believe something without having all the facts. The application is (e.g.) to keep faith, when something unexplainably bad happens to you.
What we often ignore, is the fact, that religion does work with those, who believe in it. Religion is not wrong or right. It is just a phenomenon, that has its 'Daseinsberechtigung' (sorry, the right to exist) just like every other aspect of human nature. You would not like to abolish love or prohibit fear, would you?
(And by the way: The biggest risk with religion is and will ever be the misinterpretation by the church.)
I'm not a religious person. But I believe in brain chemistry.;)
i used to wear a wristwatch, but a few years ago i decided to lose the habit. there are so many clocks around and my mobile phone has one, too. it seems pointless to strap one on my arm. besides, you can always ask for the time and raise your chances in learning to know someone.:-)
but almost noone understands this point of view. whatever.
its a joke site where people pretend to know nothing
yeah, the readers do. at least that is what i hope, after reading all these brainless comments there. both articles gave me a good laugh. i just can not see, how anyone can take this serious?
i got all the components for my shiny new pc around christmas 2001.
during setup i followed the manual of my asus a7v266-e mainboard. there is a section that reads: to clear cmos remove the jumper xy, wait a few minutes, put it back on and power up. i didn't have a clue, back then. otherwise i would have sensed, that there is something wrong. but i did what the manual said and nothing happened. tried a few times and somehow got it working... the only problem is that the board now loses all bios settings after power down. that pretty sucks!
about a year later i stumble across user comments at different hardware sites. all state that there is an error in the manual. you must not power up with that jumper placed. if you do, the board will be damaged... there is still no statement from asus.
i really hate asus for that one. they make great products, but that was SO unnecessary!

keep up to date, language is a living thing.
how does an additional "uhhh... boobies!" make his remark any less interesting?

every manufacturer gets grumpy if you don't pay him...

they start at $75 and are of excellent quality. you have to take into account the 11 year warranty, too.
i would not call that too much.
can you give me an url to the items you found in the yahoo store? is it something like this ?
i'm pretty sure, it always does.
:)
gotcha!
maybe it's just me, but for information about the rate of acceleration i trust my good ols ass-o-meter.
:)
it has direct neural input and is way more reliable than any speedometer. it (hopefully) never breaks, too...
try these...
nice price, nice quality.
