.. it was discovered that the phantom console will be in reality a virtual game console inside the famous MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies... That virtual console is being developed as an addon (imagine it as a game inside a game, this was a very popular concept in those late Sinclair 48K games). The development of this addon was due to major complaints of the the MMOPRG users - ".. there's nothing left to do!! We want more..." . Gamers will be able to trade micro games inside (Tomb Raider is being talked..) and even watch some movies and listen to mp3!! Stay tuned for futher advances...
will a few ads kill you? Mandrake needs the money, and i know that many people sit in front of the computer while installing it, looking at nothing, only a progress bar. They could even be interactive (flash maybe) like those coooll coooll ads of ABSOLUT.. they are just wonderfull:)
One question though.. wasn't mario supposed to grow bigger only after eating the mushroom?.. ehehe nice try, you almost caught me, floating blocks.. bahh >;)..
I'm not saying that parents should be absolved.. it's easier to hide that game existence from the parents (when downloaded) than if it was actually bought.. Another example.. for a porn addict it's more convenient to download the stuff than to rent of buy it.. it's more hidden. Many parents with 17 year kids don't even know how to handle a computer, now imagine..P2P
Is windows UI the problem??????? I don't think so.. i'm seeing lot's of people bashing windows for the wrong reasons.. but the lesser reason for it to be bashed it's is UI... it's just wonderful.. Everyone is used to it, it's fast. Why not apply one of that things to linux.. like using the best of one in the best of the other.. And please don't tell me that linux various UIs are better.. Here are various reasons:
1 - Having to mount manually all removable devices, or incoerence between GUI automounters and kernel automounters (aka KDE AND GNOME)
2 - Network neibourhood (arg.. bad spelled maybe), In linux we have a nautilus uri that does this.. "but" it is very slow, and not intuitive. I use a samba browser made in TCK/Tk thats is way faster "but" not very pretty
3 - Multimedia framework. This rocks in windows. In linux work is being done with gstreamer and Xine.. "but" still very very buggy
4 - Graphics card drivers.. well Xfree is modular but driver instalations are not very intuitive, although nvidia has made lately some kind of instaler.. "but"....
5 - Software instalation.. hughh.. APT? RPM? - Comon Joe - "huh!! what the heck is that???"
6 - Too many Gui APIs.. I already posted about this.. so i'll save my words here
7 - etc..
Solution.. Solve all the "buts" behind and maybe, maybe will have a decent UI in linux
.. files if they should have the same extension.. avisynth files are not video files.. but script files for video transparent pos-processing (filtering, etc) with Avisynth . They could have named it something else
I think playing computer games are only a temporary escape from the depression.. In fact i used to be depressed and playing computer games (UT, Quake) somewhat eased the "pain" (the adrenaline effect)..though after wasting lot's and lot's of time playing them i started to feel worst, being the reason the fact that i hadn't done anything usefull with that time. I think that having a moderate active life (not sitting in the computer all the time), practicing sports (martial arts is super) and always having small goals in your life (apart from being the best fragger in that game) will help you bipass the depression periods. And i forgot.. fighting your own laziness is also a key point against the depression.
TIME TRAVEL to me..;) he went back 1984 and released it's Master degree thesis (aka TRON) back then.. and this story came up today!! Have you looked at windows 1.0 ? My Washing Machine LCD controler has more functionality than that.. Now having that windows version to "block" TRON (suposedly more powerfull and free) is not very feasable.., so the story might not be very well told!.. And i forgot.. back then Windows was not even a SO.. was only a UI
Sometimes i help some friends in the buy of a new computer.. and many of them (word and excel only users) don't even know the diference between memory (ram) and Hard Drive, they think it's the same thing "I want a computer with lot's of memory so i can keep all my project documents and photos stored in it".. they say.
For the HD size problem (after all the memory and HD explanation, teletubby based psicology) i tend to use a comparative to floppies or cds, like.. 1 CD can hold aprox (i'm not doing the math here) 420 floppies and the 40 Gb HD you just bought can hold aprox 60 of those Cds.. and a total of 25200 floppies , how about that for storing all of your word documents;D. I do this because the majority of people are more tied to the use of floppies, even newbies, to carry their work from one place to another
That would happen if there was a unique timeline.. and that would be called a paradox.. but don't forget other theories.. like multiple dimensions, if you travel back in time and killed yourself in the past.. you would create another timeline from that point, but still exist in your time line.. i think that this last theory is more plausible that the unique time line..
Either way, every story about the terminator going back in time is nonsense and useless in the light of those two theories behing
The first movie was just an innocent 80s movie with an early (almost unknown) Arnold. The other two are just a lame excuse to give Arnold another action role.
Just forget the time travel crap and enjoy the explosions;D

I've heard that those teletubby games mess even worse with kids minds..avoid at all costs!
That was ment to be sarcastic ..

I see you never heard about cliffhanger, have you?
Have you ever heard about, P2P??? Do you think those kids actually buy those games?
Sorry mister .. but that's just baloney .. there aren't floating bricks in real world ... >;) Who are you trying to fool here? >;D

will it be bundled with neck plugs?
Good point ;) .. at least is less lenghty than my own explanation ;D I'll start using that one ;)
