.. it was discovered that the phantom console will be in reality a virtual game console inside the famous MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies ... That virtual console is being developed as an addon (imagine it as a game inside a game, this was a very popular concept in those late Sinclair 48K games). The development of this addon was due to major complaints of the the MMOPRG users - ".. there's nothing left to do!! We want more ..." . Gamers will be able to trade micro games inside (Tomb Raider is being talked ..) and even watch some movies and listen to mp3!! Stay tuned for futher advances ...

Is windows UI the problem??????? I don't think so.. i'm seeing lot's of people bashing windows for the wrong reasons .. but the lesser reason for it to be bashed it's is UI ... it's just wonderful.. Everyone is used to it, it's fast. Why not apply one of that things to linux .. like using the best of one in the best of the other .. And please don't tell me that linux various UIs are better .. Here are various reasons:

1 - Having to mount manually all removable devices, or incoerence between GUI automounters and kernel automounters (aka KDE AND GNOME)

2 - Network neibourhood (arg .. bad spelled maybe), In linux we have a nautilus uri that
does this .. "but" it is very slow, and not intuitive. I use a samba browser made in TCK/Tk
thats is way faster "but" not very pretty

3 - Multimedia framework. This rocks in windows. In linux work is being done with gstreamer and Xine.. "but" still very very buggy

4 - Graphics card drivers .. well Xfree is modular
but driver instalations are not very intuitive, although nvidia has made lately some kind of instaler .. "but"....

    5 - Software instalation .. hughh .. APT? RPM?
    - Comon Joe - "huh!! what the heck is that???"

6 - Too many Gui APIs .. I already posted about this .. so i'll save my words here

    7 - etc ..

Solution .. Solve all the "buts" behind and maybe, maybe will have a decent UI in linux

I think playing computer games are only a temporary escape from the depression .. In fact i used to be depressed and playing computer games (UT, Quake) somewhat eased the "pain" (the adrenaline effect)..though after wasting lot's and lot's of time playing them i started to feel worst, being the reason the fact that i hadn't done anything usefull with that time. I think that having a moderate active life (not sitting in the computer all the time), practicing sports (martial arts is super) and always having small goals in your life (apart from being the best fragger in that game) will help you bipass the depression periods. And i forgot .. fighting your own laziness is also a key point against the depression.

For the HD size problem (after all the memory and HD explanation, teletubby based psicology) i tend to use a comparative to floppies or cds, like .. 1 CD can hold aprox (i'm not doing the math here) 420 floppies and the 40 Gb HD you just bought can hold aprox 60 of those Cds .. and a total of 25200 floppies , how about that for storing all of your word documents ;D. Either way, every story about the terminator going back in time is nonsense and useless in the light of those two theories behing
