  1. Why not just conceal your gun properly? on Company Creates Gun That Looks Like a Cellphone (nbcnews.com) · · Score: 1

If I needed to use my gun in a sudden self-defense situation, I'd much rather have a "real" gun and not this gimmick. I would suggest anyone who is ashamed of their gun to simply learn to conceal it properly. Myself, I open carry my gun everywhere I go. I'm not ashamed of it. If people want to stare, let them stare.

I get that call EVERY DAY on my cell phone, trying to offer me lower rates on my credit card(s). I've been getting the call every day for the last 2 years. I've tried just about everything. For an entire month I pressed 1 to talk to a representative and pretended to be interested to work my way up the chain, so that I could waste their time. I hoped that would get them to take me off the list. Didn't work. I have tried ignoring the calls, that doesn't work either. I have threatened them with everything from legal action to bodily harm. That doesn't work either. If I knew where their offices were, I'd go burn the place down.

  6. I get a call EVERY DAY from cardmember services... on Time Warner Cable Owes $229,500 To Woman It Would Not Stop Calling · · Score: 1

I get a call every single day on my cell phone from a robocall company called "Cardholder services" and sometimes they go by "cardmember services" and they refuse to stop calling me. They've been calling me every day for almost 2 years now with a pitch to lower my credit card interest rates. I have threatened them with everything from bodily harm to legal action. Nothing seems to help. They just call me back the next day and the cycle repeats. I guess they figure if they didn't get my business the first 600 times they called, maybe if they just call me 601 times, that will do the trick.

Dang.. I should be in for some BIG settlement from these guys if Time Warner had to pay up...

  7. This will NOT half the cost of batteries on New Manufacturing Technique Halves Cost of Lithium-Ion Batteries · · Score: 1

But eventually, society learned that an visible antenna was not necessary and we moved on. I suspect in another 20 years most cars will be a lot more quiet as a result of hybrid and electric drivetrains. I've been driving an EV now for 3 years and now that I've grown accustomed to the silence, hearing any engine noise at all sounds so yesterday, so obsolete.

As a customer, I'd honestly rather be talking to a machine as it would give me the same answers but might actually be at little easier to understand.

In fact, I could see advantages for these guns under certain circumstances if I was in situations where there was a risk my gun would be taken away from me in a struggle. However, personally I would not want one of these. The main reason being that it is another point of possible failure or breakdown that could keep my gun from firing in the event I need to use it. When people need to use a gun in self-defense they usually have less than a second to make that decision and pull the trigger. THere is no time to be fiddling with some gizmo or something that might prevent the gun from firing.

  20. Re:what happens when the batters wears out? on Will the Nissan Leaf Take On the Tesla Model S At Half the Price? · · Score: 2

While it is true, if you keep the car long enough you'll eventually need a new battery. The battery warranty is for 8 years, or 10 years in some states. Nissan hasn't released a price for a replacement pack. Most experts believe the battery costs around $5,000 currently. But it will probably be half that price by the time you need to replace it. On the flip side, the electric car requires almost no regular maintenance like your CR-V does. And when you do replace the battery, the car should be good to go for another 10 years because the rest of the car should last much longer than a gasoline car.
