> The Vatican is going solar in a big way. The tiny state recently announced that it intends to spend 660 million dollars to create what will effectively be Europe's largest solar power plant.
For only 6 million dollars more they can add an option to generate power from the conversion of pure evil.

He'd probably be pretty safe if he accessed the ransom website from a computer booted from a Live-CD of a less popular distro. We're talking about a guy committing some serious crimes... it would be worth his time to compile Minix or something totally obscure and use telnet to grab the webpage from the ransom site.
Hell, I just saw a kid browsing a webpage on his DS the other day. There are a lot of ways this guy could have avoided getting caught. I'm glad he got caught of course. But he could have at least tried a little harder:-).
The real weak link would be whenever and whereever he physically took possession of the money. That's where his real identity must interact with the "chain" the money has followed.

If I was the girls father I would now be facing my own charges of assault and battery for beating the shit out of the school assistance principle and the two staffers who strip searched my daughter for suspicion of having a fucking aspirin.
You should not throttle the customers, get fired, and let the bastard they replace you with throttle the customers to hell. That way everyone wins. Well, except for you, you got fired. And except for the customers, they got throttled. Ok, your boss wins no matter what.
Just this week Yahoo mail started serving up ads that pop up an annoying window every time your mouse passes over it. I hope Yahoo loses a lot of market share over this. I know it was the impetus I needed to switch over to Google mail. Of course Yahoo doesn't offer mail forwarding so you lose your email address. Serves me right for ever using a provider that doesn't make it possible to migrate away.
If you actually WTFV (watch the video) you can see that after giving the soldier a thorough checking over, the snake-bot PLUNGES THROUGH HIS STOMACH AND UP UNDER HIS RIB-CAGE! Is THAT the kind of behavior we want from our snake-bots?! Who is running this thing? Skynet?
Good luck with that. If you start quoting court decisions you will likely see the hot end of a tazor really quick. And then you will be arresting on charges of resisting arrest, fighting with an officer, and several other charges that struck the officer's fancy while he watched you squirm on the ground in agony.
I have several police officers in the family. This happens all the time.
Since you are asking here on Slashdot, I'll tell you the best thing to do.
Forget the computer lab. Give each student their own Linux based wearable PC with heads-up display projected onto eye-glasses. Cluster all of the students together using Beowulf over a wireless mesh network. Each student will be responsible for tuning the kernel on their own unit.
You might get a different response if you ask educators though...

I was reading the SOA wiki page wonder what the hell they were blabbering about. Then I got it.
It's the old Unix ideal of having many small tools each doing a small job well, and being able to easily tie those tools together into chains (or dare I say pipes) to achieve results.
Except now instead of it being simple, there are committees, XML schemas, and trade shows. This will help it's success by allowing high priced consultants to participate.

When I travel in cold climates I often like to sleep next to tens of thousands of watts of heat. Really takes the edge of a frosty night. Of course I'll sleep by megawatts of heat if I can find it, for a real warm night.

> how do you expect telemarketers to avoid calling people on the do-not-call list if they don't have a copy of the list?
Are you serious?
Telemarketers should NEVER be given any phone numbers that they do not already know.
They should submit THEIR OWN call list to a web site, which returns to them a list of which of the numbers are do-not-call and which are ok to call.
