Fortunately, there are SpamAssassin rules to catch those. I was getting a TON of those, with my name in the subject. Finally found a rule that killed them.
I don't see how this will help you find lost luggage unless you & the luggage simply get seperated in the airport. Usually when you notice that your luggage is lost, you're already at your destination airport and the luggage either a)didn't leave the origin airport or b)left, but on another flight. Lost bags often sit in the airlines office for weeks..months sometimes. I worked for a ground handling company and would occasionally try to reunite lost baggage with the owners, but even after contacting the owners, they never claimed it. Probably because the airline already paid out their lost-baggage claim settlement.
Point is, 2 of the largest airports on the west coast said "This isn't really useful" and dropped the plans. Maybe the others shouldn't even bother with RFID.
DirecTV made last week my "TV Turn-off week" - I tried to tell them it was *this* week, but they insisted it was going to be whenever they felt like it unless I paid that bill. Blah.
So, it's going to cover 850mhz, 1900mhz, TDMA, CDMA, GSM, etc?
Isn't it likely that this thing will whack more than cell phones?
It's probably easier to just give theatre patrons a big stick. That way they can just beat the shit out of any moron that whips out a cell during the movie.
I downloaded the reference drivers for a GeForce 2 MX on a rebuilt XP box a few weeks ago. A video card that *I paid for*
I installed PowerDVD. *Software that I PAID FOR*
I tried to play a DVD that *I PAID FOR*
No luck. It refused to play because the particular GeForce 2 card has a TV out that you cannot disable. (I checked. You can't just "turn it off" in software. It's on.)
What a load of crap. Utter bullshit, IMHO. The MPAA is stretching this "piracy" crap way too far and it's pissing me off.
Fortunately, VLC allowed me to play the DVD I own on hardware that I paid for.
Fuck Macrovision. Fuck the MPAA. And fuck you, Orinn Hatch.
Maybe we can keep Grandma from watching QVC and the 5 other "home shopping channels" we have. If she doesn't have those channels, maybe she'll quit ordering crap like "The Clapper!"
Damn it.
I'd love a la carte programming. I never watch the 6 Spanish channels we get. Tivo likes to record crap in Chinese for me, too.
He's doing it "for the children!" Check out this quote:
"Unscrupulous corporations could distribute to children and students a "piracy machine" designed to tempt them to engage in copyright piracy or pornography distribution."
What a load of crap. The "unscrupulous corporations" are the ones that we already have - the ones that have been screwing over recording artists for generations.
However, it will have to pass through the 7 Layer Burrito Of Management for approval first.
I like the "spongmonkeys" in the Quiznos ads. They're a great way to get everyone in the office really irritated with you.:)
Some commercials are just lame. I can't stand the flood of drug commercials (Valtrex/etc) and I am so sick of car commercials that I want to scream. Letting Tivo know "Hey, this ad sucks!" or "Hey, this rocks!" is a fairly useful function.
Then again, I don't know why they haven't added some other functionality - like setting up "accounts" so parents can force limits on sneaky kids that try to sneak in as much TV as they want.
No surprise there, but they think that having all of your product keys behind a nice "Passport" account is a good idea.
Well, about a week or so ago I needed to get to our product keys, but couldn't because Hotmail/Passport experienced a huge outage. How nice. Couldn't get a bunch of machines rolled out. I learned, tho. I printed out all of our keys and stashed them somewhere safe.
I get really tired of trying to find a hotspot on one of several hotspot maps only to find them all cluttered with Starbucks (TWELVE within one mile of my office) and McDonalds.
The only free hotspot I know of in the area is a coffee shop on Bush & Kearny, and I patronize the shop over others because of the free 802.11 access. It's nice to have, and it does bring in the business.
Yeah, there's a "mozilla schema" available. The one thing that I cannot manage to get to show up, of all things, is the street address. There's also no field for "Suite #" - but they have one for AIM address. Blah.
IIRC, mozilla seems to want to use its own.ldif which is whacked and doesn't quite work with *other* clients (like OS X Address Book, and..gah..Outlook)
Maybe I'm missing something, but it'd be nice if Mozilla's LDAP implementation would work a lil' better.
(Yes, I checked Google.. I'm not the only one that thinks the LDAP implementation is a bit wonky)
"We can get it done overseas for a fraction of the cost...."
But the games still get sold here for $59.99...
Where are the savings going? They're sure not being passed along to the consumers. Probably, they're lining the pockets of already overpaid "executives."

Join the spamassassin-talk lists.. rules galore!

How many idiots are already camping out for THIS one? :P
I bet they'll be really pissed if SW:Episode III is a turkey like I & II were because we already know what happens in IV, V, and VI.
It's happened. Corrupted profiles happen.
It's been noted HERE in fact.
Yeah, it's from 1.0 but the issue can still occur, especially if a crash causes it.

Lucky them! I had a contract at NASA and I WISH that I was getting anywhere NEAR $70k/yr (with bennies) to build computers.
I was doing it for $18/hr, and crappy benefits. =/
True, but Porsche is certainly hopping on the tired old "luxury SUV" wagon to try and increase marketshare.

Or will Comcast pull it from DirecTV in another lame ploy to get us all to subscribe to lame ass "digital cable?"
We all know how wonderful Comcast's "customer service" has been...
However, it will have to pass through the 7 Layer Burrito Of Management for approval first.

This is the most gratuitous example of "Preaching to the Choir" that I've ever seen.
But, you're right. Preach on, mah brotha!
They already killed off Adobe Premiere as "Final Cut Pro payback"
this is just Adobe sucking ass to Microsoft.
All these "other TLDs" get used for is spam anyway.
.biz or .info TLD that wasn't owned by spammers or some corporation that already owned the corresponding .com,.net, and .org already.
Oh, a few get used for silly pages (chicken.coop?) but the vast majority get used for spam.
I have yet to see a

Screw Passport.
Hrm, good idea.
Unfortunately, Starbucks & other cruft clutter that list as well.
try "wifi hotspot" in 94111 (San Francisco) - payspots. =/

Does it use the "mozilla.ldif" schema? Or are you just pulling name & email address?
Not in Exchange 2003 it's not. you have to enable it per-server, and then turn on the IMAP services in the Services panel.
It's *not* on by default.

It's a weekend, why should they care about putting out their timely alerts, eh?
"Officials at the Department of Homeland Security, which is in charge of the government's cybersecurity efforts, were unavailable for comment."
