"Passport" was down from when I got to work at 8am until god knows when (I left at 5pm and it was STILL down)
This meant that I was unable to access our expensive MSDN subscription pages. I couldn't get serial numbers to complete some Office 2003 installs.
Stupid Microsoft for putting everything behind that damn "Passport" crap. Stupid me for not saying "Screw the EULA" and printing out my license keys and sticking them in a drawer. Ugh.
If you move to India, where jobs are going because they pay dirt cheap wages, what are the chances that you'll ever be able to come BACK to the United States?
If you do, chances are you'll be in poverty because you will have saved very little and your job here will *still* be gone.
Geez, camera phones, games, bluetooth, and now TRACKING DEVICES?
I just want call quality & reception to improve. Tracking devices are useless when the phone can barely make calls and the user smashes it on the sidewalk.:P
Geez. This really is getting out of hand. Copyrights (despite the fact that scholars have said that copyrights are getting out of hand) being handed out, crazy patents, SCO's antics, the DMCA, Patriot Act..
Are we legislating ourselves out of existance faster than we know it?
True, voting for your Third Party Candidate for president might just lead to another 4 years of Bush & Co, but what's wrong with getting out and voting for your favorite third party in *local* elections?
Nothing wrong with that at all. Act locally, but keep your eye on the big picture. Here are the stats for Walnut Creek, CA: PARTY AFFILIATION 16,368 Democrats 15,883 Republicans
540 American Independent
368 Green Party
185 Libertarian
52 Natural Law
54 Peace and Freedom
5,389 Declined to state
406 Miscellaneous (Source: Contra Costa County Elections Office)
If all of those "third party" voters would get out and vote, they could (and have) helped to get third party candidates elected.
You haven't seen San Francisco in a while, have you?
On Montgomery St, there's a Starbucks - across the street from another Starbucks. There are almost 70 in the city of San Francisco alone. Take a look at the map.. San Francisco isn't exactly the biggest city in California.
Dude, it was on Dr. Phil not too long ago. Millions of Oprah watching Dr. Phil fanatics will go "Oh, WOW!" and order themselves an iMac. I have a relative that called me and asked me about it after seeing Dr. Phil talk to that "Dr. Phil Family" using an iSight.
It only does that once per 24 hour period, IIRC...
QuickTime is NOWHERE NEAR as annoying as RealPlayer. QuickTime doesn't install a "message center" into your systray that does nothing but toss adverts at you.
I hear it every...single..bleedin'...day on BART.
:P
The same clueless wonders are surprised when their phone cuts off as the train heads into a 2 mile tunnel, too.
I *HATE* Nextel phones for just that reason. People think that the rest of us want to hear both sides of their inane conversation.

Gee, what a deal! *sigh*
My monitor is sitting on 3 of them right now, the printer on another 2.
How about +5 Wrong?

You do NOT need to ship the whole iPod back. I am so sick of seeing that false statement repeated everywhere I look.
Tell me about it..I am posting this from my tmobile sidekick that work gave me..tmobile has awful coverage even along major highways..blah

Mozilla does more than "Audio only" - it will also pop up a small systray window at you.
It's annoying, and one of the first things that I turn off.
Edit -> Preferences -> Mail & Newsgroups -> Notifications. It's right there.. even in Moz 1.5
Has anybody else noticed that SCO put out a number of security advisories today?
This lawsuit news kind of covers that up..
I didn't read the full advisory, so maybe they didn't put out anything significant at all.
Still kinda interesting.
Who has the copyright to copyright a copyright? :P

But it's best to not use them, because 4-6 people are always determined to blow through the red light anyway.
Just run like hell across the street when you can. It's generally a lot safer.
But, what do you guys find objectionable about Sponge Bob? Aside from his annoying laugh, that is. :)
Richard Blum wrote one - it's now quite outdated.
Ralf Hildebrandt & someone else (sorry, forgot who) are working on another very current Postfix book as well. Keep an eye on Amazon.com for it.
I've also read the O'Reilly Postfix book and found it to contain a lot of information. It's nice to have around.
There are still quite a few Mac OS 9 servers - running Webstar or AppleShare IP, or maybe even Eudora Internet Mail Server.
It's actually not a bad platform at all and can be quite reliable.

... on the west coast, FYI

Now that's what I call "market saturation."
Grandmother & family do not care about "open source" or otherwise - they just want stuff to work.
:)
Get them to use Mozilla, and explain open source later. Works well.
I just tell them that it's a special version of Netscape 7, without the AOL logos.
People immediately recognize "Netscape," even to this day.. which is a good thing.
Why?

Product placement really is an amazing thing.
Maybe that's what they're running it on because it sure as heck isn't loading anymore. :P
:)
The site www.gc-linux.org is running Apache/1.3.26 (Unix) PHP/4.1.2 on Linux
Hey, maybe they ARE eating their own dogfood..
Janet Jackson's tit was the most re-visited section of the entire game. Heh. :P
Somehow I don't think we have a whole heck of a lot to worry about.
Will your homeowners association/condo complex/apartment complex let you install a dish? That's #1 to look at. :)
Otherwise, I'd go with DirecTV. Better channel lineup and they're not raising rates every 6 months like Comcast has been doing in the Bay Area. =/
It only does that once per 24 hour period, IIRC...

The two are like night & day.
that there are people on Earth with waaaaay too much free time...
