I'm a former AT&T Wireless customer care employee. Oddly enough, it was the only call center job where I did *not* hear about people having problems getting through. At the very least, they didn't outsource all the staff to India or contractors.
A lot of the current problems are related to a massive switch to Siebel's backend setup. That could explain the excessive hold times.
I'm happy to say that Courtney is a lot better off these days, IMHO. She was at Netscape at the same time I was.
Jenni moved to the suburbs of Sacramento, got fat & out of shape, and ended up picking up an office job with the County. heh.
Did she travel at all?

Companies have up to *90 days* to ding you for roaming charges. So if you travel outside of your area, and 2 months later you see the charges, that's normal.
My Tivo lets me pick shows and set it to start recording 3-5 minutes before the hour. So if the show starts at 10:00pm, it'll start recording at 9:56pm.
This isn't a hack, it's in the stock DirecTivo unit.
Or buy a motherboard with a BIOS that doesn't come from Phoenix. Last time I checked, Phoenix wasn't the only company on Earth that made motherboard BIOS setups.
I'm sure that something else will pop up. Or, another idea.. write/call/visit Phoenix and tell them that you think their idea sucks. Give their 1-800 # a call. Vote with your wallet, as usual.
I was looking for ringtones for my Ericsson phone a few weeks ago, and (literally) the first 3 pages were all sham sites that were filled with ads and lead back to - you guessed it - www.ringingphone.com!
Those sham sites are no longer showing up in the Google results, and I can actually find what I was looking for instead of having to wade through the cesspool shopping mall that the internet is turning into.
Let me get this straight - one sham "penis enhancing business" is blaming *another penis enhancing business for actually joe-jobbing the spam? Let us consider the content of the two quotes below:
"The object of the Californian's anger was Douglas Mackay, president of DM Contact Management, which works for Albion Medical, a firm advertising the "Only Reliable, Medically Approved Penis Enhancement."
So, he touts *HIS* company as *the* penis enlarging business to go to. heh.
He said his firm does not send spam but blamed a rival firm which he said routes much of their unsolicited bulk e-mail through Russia and eastern Europe. Mackay said such firms gave a bad name to the penis enhancement business. "
And he also claims that his penis enlarging business doesn't send spam. It's all just a big misunderstanding! Of all the penis enlargement spams people get, none of them come from *his* company. None at all. Are we supposed to believe that?
Sounds like a very convenient excuse - blame "rival companies" after you spam the hell out of people.
Maybe someone has a copy of one of these spams and can trace it?
The nice expensive new ticket machines at the Millbrae station do that all the time.
It really sucks when you're trying to catch a train, too. Stupid Windows NT boxes. All the money they spent, and they got stuck with Windows NT. heh.
When taking BART, also note the "elevator status" screens in the agent's booth. Quite often you'll see an ODBC:Ping Timeout error scroll across instead of the correct information.

Bliss Interactive (www.blissinteractive.com) is currently seeking an unpaid intern to accomplish the following task:
Take our workflow process online, utilizing/integrating documents currently created with Acrobat Professional 6.0.
Specifically, we need you to:
1. Allow for a username and password to be set for each project. 2. Have a pre-set catalog of documents which currently exist in Adobe Acrobat 6.0 viewable online for each project after the user logs in. The docs may be accessed from a simple left nav UI. 3. Allow anyone who logs on to add to/change the alterable text fields already embedded in the Acrobat documents and save the changes online.
There are approximately 40 documents total.
Benefits: why would you want to do this for us as an unpaid intern?
In short, you have the time and you are interested in expanding your network. We have the need for qualified programmers for projects of all kinds. If we develop a good working relationship with you, we will pass programming work along to you in the future!
Please respond with a short email explaining past experience with projects like this as well as your CV in the body of your email.
Telecommuting is ok. This is a part-time job. This is a contract job. This is an internship job. Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this job poster. Please, no phone calls about this job! Please do not contact job poster about other services, products or commercial interests. Reposting this message elsewhere is NOT OK. this is in or around Union Square
at Fuck That Job dot com..but you know, there are so many of these postings that it's really not that funny anymore. It just reaffirms our belief that management really is trying to squeeze everything they can out of the pee-on workers. Gotta do something to give that CEO his bonus (studies show that executive compensation has gone up over 17% in the past year. Bah.)
More C&D letters? If a film is on an FTP site, are they going to log in and see if you have movies? Or are they just (again) going after people that have movies shared on Kazaa/p2p? Feinstein supports limiting the Total Information Act, so supposedly she's all about personal privacy. But if you're sharing movies, that goes out the window - after all, they'll have to track you down to throw you in jail, right?
I'm glad to see that my local elected official is doing so much good for the State of California. *writes letter telling her that this legislation is ridiculous and to stop pandering to the MPAA*

That one company was found to have purposely *caused* a 3 day delay, and was bombarding customers with ad pitches hoping they'd stay.
Guess we know who it is - and these days I'm not surprised. (I'm a former employee)
Look for the old MacAddict interview where she claimed to have a l33t "DOS firewall" - heh
I can't recall the name, but Jenni was *not* the "first camgirl" - but she's probably the first that charged $$$ for it.

Just like Dell does all over the country?
Macs are disappearing in schools, being replaced by PCs..thanks to lobbying by companies like Dell.
Or buy a motherboard with a BIOS that doesn't come from Phoenix.

They're the big red "splat" on the map right about now...

Primary/Secondary would refer to the IDE channels.
That would cause MORE confusion if used to describe drives. "The primary drive on the primary controller" vs "The Master on the Primary controller"
Eh, I guess that you *could* interchange the two, but master/slave *is* an industry standard.
Look at the alternative - Microsoft might just try to buy it. ;)

Unplug a whole bunch of shit. Watch the chaos.
:P
THEN ask people if IT matters.
uh.. no. Want to see something insightful, then you should look around a little bit and read about the dozens of *non-space related things* NASA does.
NASA is not 100% space science.
They seem to only have 9 copies to give away. I jumped on the same offer and 3 months later, got a postcard saying "Sorry, we ran out!"
heh
Cancel deer hunting licenses.
:P
Issue spammer hunting licences, a 6 pack of Bud, & a bounty.
Save some deer, solve that pesky spam problem.
Spam should cease to exist in about 2 weeks.
Spoken just like someone that has absolutely no idee what NASA really does these days.
