At first I thought.... who wants to write.net apps on unix? Until I was forced to write a program that talked SOAP to a vendor's server running.NET web services.
I whipped one up in visual studio (and im a unix admin with 15+ years experience) compiled it in windows, and then copied the.exe file to a linux and solaris box where it ran with no issues whatsoever
The same thing in perl using SOAP::Lite took weeks to get right and even then was still a mess.
Mono's definitely a useful part of the unix world.
Could be worse... Ehow does have some reasonably good content.... while Yahoo Answers is filled with entirely useless results, many of which are completely incorrect "answers" to the question being posed!
I'd be pleased just to get rid of all the anonymous commenting on most news sites. The level of nastiness leveled by pretty much anyone commenting on sites like Yahoo News is just mindblowing. Anonymous web commenting has gotten so out of hand, someone even made a firefox plugin to filter it!
It says nothing about unlimited data or tethering in that link or the AUP document I read that was linked from the page you linked to.
Near as I can tell, your 5GB plan gets you 5GB. If you are a Verizon customer you can log onto their website at any time and check your data usage, or if your phone supports the "My Verizon" app like mine does, you can use it for checking.
I used less than 100MB last month with web browsing, app downloads, using google maps with gps, and some light youtube video watching. Unless you are downloading large files you shouldnt need to worry about a 5GB cap.
They have been FLOODING atlanta with advertisments, and I hear several people say they are getting it, but heard little about actual service performance.
Still, $50 for unlimited wireless internet with speeds approximate to what you'd get off bellsloth's DSL (3 megabit?) isn't a bad deal, if indeed you use it on the go around town. I've heard at least 2-3 non-authoritative sources say Clear plans to actually DROP the price once they get a critical mass of subscribers. If that were to actually happen, I'd be shocked, but it would definitely jumpstart the use of their service.
Personally, for me, I'll keep comcast. Guess I'm old school like that. I can tether my blackberry if I need emergency internet away from home and im not in a wifi hotspot.
By the 6th amendment, if we are accuused of a felony (such as robbing liquor store or the charges brought up in TFA) we have a right to a trial by a jury of our peers.
Many old PC games wont run on my computer anymore (WinXP) and if they do its sub-optimal.
So my top 5:
1) AoE 2: Age of Kings - Definitely my favorite RTS game!
2) MAME - Many of the old 80s games are still very playable and enjoyable even compared to today's games. Rolling Thunder, Metrocross, Zookeeper, Joust, Cloak & Dagger, and Robotron 2084 are some I play a lot.
3) Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 - I bought a Dreamcast just for this game and Crazy Taxi
4) Crazy Taxi - I bought a Dreamcast just for this game and THPS2
I've still got a Newton 120 sitting on a dock next to me. I havent used it in forever though, just trying to charge up the original rechargables from 1995.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Register is the Enquirer of the IT world. It posts all sorts of vague and misleading titles of stories. Try reading the articles and you'll see what I mean.
Yet they completely leave charts out! I don't know of a single Excel user who hasn't charted their data at some point in time. If Google isn't supporting this, then they can expect users to dislike their spreadsheet.
I don't use charting on Excel, and I gather a lot of others don't either. A fairly sizable number of people use excel in place of a database for things like contact management or inventories. It's not a feature that'd be critical to have available in a beta test.
I was going to post the same thing. However, there is at least one digital SLR that has a real-time LCD viewfinder, that is the Olympus E330 E-volt. Now why you would buy a digital SLR only to use it like a cheapie point-and-shoot is a question to ponder.
I've been using the same mousepad from Data 2000 in Ocala FL, since late 1992.

50 x 150ft is a common city-sized lot. That's a little more than 1/6 acre.
Also, I verified with google... an acre is 43560sq ft, which is 66x660.... your claim of 220x220ft was incorrect.

A 16550 doesn't really count as a graphics card anymore...
That was the funniest comment in this entire thread. But it flew right over most of these lil whippersnappers heads.
I've been using my.yahoo.com since 1997, the most configurable IMO.
You probably got marked off for calling it C+ instead of C++.

I don't agree. I mean what was IE's market share before Mozilla/Firefox started to gain share? What was IBM's share in the PC market at one time?

Because Solaris x86 is such a tiny portion of the installed Solaris systems out there.

That includes you assuming you are an American.

I'm a Yahoo! shareholder, you insensitive clod!
Tens of thousands of years of sandstorms probably ground the "glass" back down into sand.
Uh, didn't DC come out pretty far before PS2 and Gamecube? Like at least a couple years?
Yes but you can use any address to sign up for an msn account, even though they strongly suggest you have a hotmail or msn email. :)
You mean my sole reason for existence is now opening jars for the missus?
Don't forget killing bugs...
Make friends with a Best Buy employee and get the same cable for $3 because that's what they'd pay (cost + some small percentage)
;)
I got a 50' network cable for something ridiculous like $4 once thru a friend of a friend.
Hey, this is SLASHDOT. If you're going to troll, at least do a decent job. I mean that was simply amateur!
