I suppose it makes for a better story to claim Vonage has a million problems. I'm sure they are not perfect, but many of the problems mentioned in these comments are not Vonage's fault. If your ISP can't keep a connection alive or provide sufficient bandwidth, theres a separate issue.
I absolutely love my Vonage service. I've been a customer for almost a year.
* It works quite well (I have my internet service via a cable modem with Charter)
* I love that I can control forwarding, voicemail functions, etc online (moreso than bellsouth)
* I get my voicemails via email. SO much nicer than having to use ANYONE's phone-based voice mail. I don't even bother checking the VM on my cell phone because its such a pain in the ass.
* Its less than $28/mo taxes and everything included per month for unlimited local and long distance, plus they just started where they include free calls to Canada, UK, Ireland, France, and there may be one more country im missing. Bellsouth after taxes would cost me $64 and that's only domestic calls.
And I tell people, on those off occasions my internet service happens to be down or there's a problem, there are two cell phones in this house. They make fine backup.
For $600-$800 I can get a good PC and play games on it.
One example... GTA 3 looks 1000x times better on my PC than any version did on the PS2 and a TV set. The same can be said for a great many games. Now I don't know about the new Xbox360 or PS3, but I don't want to have to buy an HDTV and a $600 console to approach what I already have on the computer and nice 21" CRT.
Ahhhh! I get it, you're one of those! "I hear the jury's still out on this Science thing." Tell me, which is your particular axe: is it Darwinism, or climate change? And by all means, set me straight if I have this wrong somehow. We are interested in the truth here, after all.
I'm having a hard time believing that page is real... I just can't imagine. The guy goes to all those lengths to look professional and then suggests using "ass cream" to make you look rested. Nice.
My EOS 20D did 700 before I recharged it for the first time (after the initial recharge of course). And I just did that to be safe, I bet it could have gone longer !!!
I was under the impression Computer Science was accredited, but it was Computer Engineering that was not. At least that was the case in the early 90's when I was a CS student at Tulane.
I have had nothing but 100% positive experiences with Amazon. When you find an item, be sure it says it's shipped from and sold by Amazon.com, and not someone else. With Cameras (and surely other things, like computer parts and cookware that I know of) sometimes the items might be sold by Amazon affiliates. I avoid all of them, even though Amazon does have some level of guarantee your experience will be a good one with the affiliates.
I got tired of the poor range from my SMC 802.11g router, so I wired my whole house with cat5e. I have 12 jacks throughout the house. The whole thing cost me around $350.
The original USR Pilot 1000 did not arrive until 1996, NOT 1994.
Also, as the owner of one of these Pilot 1000s, I will say, it did crash periodically. Not OFTEN mind you, but then, my Palm Tungsten T5 doesn't crash any more than the old Pilot either. The only thing I dislike about the Tungsten over the original Pilot is Graffiti 2. I'm too used to the original Graffiti.
I liked the Pilot much better than the big bulky Newton 120 I had before it.
Does this mean they are finally going to ditch ICQ? While it used to be popular in the late 90s I think I have two people left on my list who still use it.
I never understood why AOL wanted to have two toally separate IM clients. I realize that AIM and ICQ are using the same protocol (or close) now, but they really should have merged the clients or picked one or the other by now.
They do have pop access, but you have to pay for it.
I use Yahoo mail to download my email from two external accounts and read it online (neither account has shell access). This is a feature Gmail DOESNT have. Then I can POP the mail from yahoo to my local machine. Its all part of Yahoo Mail Plus
There are signs stating that it is illegal to use or accept chips as payment for anything other than gambling (ie you cant take your chips to the casino restaurant and spend them there)
I don't see why not... it should just be the stock symbol with .OL at the end of it, so you can track it on any stock site.
That's cheaper than hiring even one developer on full time! Wow, Sun knows how to save some money. ;)

Are you kidding me?! I still love a good game of Crazy Taxi or Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (yes, TWO) on my Dreamcast.
And the three games I play the most (still!) on my PC are GTA 3, Railroad Tycoon 2, and Age of Kings (AoE II)

I wish I had a mod point to give you!
"PS it was the "living wage" bullshit that tipped your hand.
Now who's the one who needs to "Grow up a little"? Way to be a hypocrite.
Yeah, I know the feeling. Try getting your old data (in my case, 2000) from taxes.yahoo.com
That was the one time in the last 12 years I did not choose to use TaxCut or TurboTax and boy do I regret it.

You should have just downloaded it. :)
As is mine! 41507! woo hoo! ;)
Probably some first year calculus student who was like "Holy guacamole! dt/dt = 1, Einstein and Hawking are crackpots! I must tell the world!"
The second thing he probably said was "DUDE...dont bogart the doritos!"
Schwartz also said the only relevant OSes left today are Linux, Windows and Solaris.
Anyway, they had a PPC port of Solaris.... 10 years ago when they had Solaris 2.5.1. Why would they want to start it up again?

Look at how much cell phone usage cost just 5-6 years ago. It's nothing like CDs. :)

Ah! How could I have forgotten to list the XM Comedy Channel!
:)
I *love* it. If everyone had this, there'd be no more road rage.
For the cost of ONE CD a month you can have Satellite radio. I have (and love) XM, but I'm sure Sirius has similar offerings.
:) And XM works everywhere in the lower 48 and also most of Canada.
News: XM has CNN, Fox, ABC, NPR, BBC plus others, since people like their news skewed in various directions.
Political talk: XM has separate Left-wing and Right-wing stations depending on your taste.
Entertainment: Discovery Channel, E!, MTV, and several other channels.
Its the best purchase I've made in a long time
