    I think you're wrong about Die Hard. The success of Die Hard made Bruce Willis' career, not the other way around.

    Before Die Hard, Bruce Willis was known to the world as the quirky detecitve David Addison on the television show Moonlighting. That he had no 'tough guy' creds to his name is what made him such a compelling John McClain.

    for the time being, the devices would have to be manufactured here and then sent to the moon.

    The problem is that the items that folks buy off of ebay have to come from somewhere. ...That means that when I (a casual player) enter the Tomb of Dread in search of the (Ultra Valuable) Short Sword of Uberness, there is already some clown standing ther waiting for it to drop. And when it does drop he'll log that character out and log in another character to wait for it to drop again.

    and that spoils my gaming experience.

    Hence I don't play MMOGS that support ebaying.

    Update. The machine the guy plays on is a little more than a year old. It plays City of Heroes and Swar Wars Galaxies just fine. I'd imagine that it would play WoW too.

    I've seen the graphics in EQ2, They are nothing to write home about. I don't know why they push his machine as hard as they do.

    Going through town is like a a slide show. Less than 1 frame per second on a buddy's machine. It was so painful that he canceled the game after a week. This was after playing old EQ since pre Kunark.

    The University doesn't matter as much as work experience.

    Get yourself a co-op job over the summer and work your ass off. If they like you, employment post graduation is nearly certain.

    If you can find a local tech company where you can work part time during the year, it's even better.

    That said, keep your GPA up. A lot of employers have a minimum GPA requirement for co-ops.

    Is the blurb saying that you can't criticize something unless you have tried it first?

    Does that mean that I have to become a Heroin addict before I can say, "Heroin use is bad". Do I have to kill someone before I can come out against murder?

    This doesn't sound like a good way to confront these zealots. How about a more direct approach - ridicule.

    Laugh in their face.

    When they walk away from a conversation with you, they should know that you think:

    1 - that not only is their cause based on junk science (or no science),
    2 - but the leaders of their cause are the worst kind of charlatans motivated only by personial enrichment,
    3 - and that they are fools for being so easily taken in.

    This is incorrect. Research has shown that the optic nerve can be directly stimulated to produce simple images.

    On a related note, direct overstimulation of the optic nerve can result in siezures. This may be what you heard.

    If two fighters are of equal skill, the smaller one is at a disadvantage. That's why competitive martial arts have weight classes.

    Small fighters may be fast, but in most cases it takes more than speed to oversome the weight and reach advantage a larger opponent has. Since this discussion is about fighters of equal skill, the small guy _is_ at a disadvantage.

    I only stated that it would help the position of the original poster if they were to explain what they saw the differences to be.

    It is a common tactic on most message boards to rattle off a long list of terms and then infer that the reader would have to be daft to not understand and agree with the poster. There is actually an official sounding term for this falacy. If you're interested, you can always google for it.
