    coal and oil are subsidized. there is a huge federal fund to pay for coal workers health problems which should be paid by the customers via higher prices. same with oil where the government leases land and passes all kinds of laws in case oil companies get sued after a spill

    so? buy it once and keep it for years until the next computer. i have a 6 year old macbook pro that works just fine and the only thing i put in there was new RAM and new hard drive which is pretty standard across all computers.

    people will find something else. in the 80's it was almost guaranteed that your car would be stolen or your stereo ripped out. the car makers fixed that. back then it was almost guaranteed that you would be mugged on the streets of NYC.

    now petty criminals do digital scams. once that goes away they will find something else as organized crime adapts and the rank and file employees learn new skills

    i have neighbors who go to work early and come home late and leave their kids in after school and have a babysitter to drop them off at school and pick them up from after school

    if this is really 10-2 without any unofficial over time it's a great deal for parents of school age kids before they are old enough to walk by themselves

    in NYC the market seems to be people too lazy to walk 20 minutes to the train if you're somewhere away from the subway. or drunk people who need a ride out of manhattan on weekends.

    otherwise the idiot drivers seem to be no better than the murderous taxi drivers in how they drive around manhattan

    everything at apple today is based on the work steve jobs did at NEXT. it's all some fork of that original OS. unless apple has some secret project that is going to take a decade to come to fruition and is a totally new piece of software there is nothing to innovate except stick another fork of NEXT/OS X into some box that does something or other
