I REALLY loved Xmarks. It was so convenient across my 3 computers.
Was it freeware or did they ask for a donation? I never saw any messages about donating but if I knew they were in trouble I would have give some money. This stinks. Hopefully someone will take over.
This should be a feature built into every web browser anyways. Doesn't Chrome have this built in?
Hahahaha, cheesy as they sound, I love all the short phrases in Gears.
I'm really looking forward to Gears of War 3. The first Gears has a special place for me. It was the FIRST game I got on the 360 AND it is THE game that sold me on that platform.
I'm hoping they end the trilogy with a GOOD final story.
Before I reply to your comment, let me state, I have 360 and PS3 and have used the Wii at friends' houses.
>One of the major advantages that PSN has over Xbox is the fact that the online >play is free.
Actually, it's the ONLY advantage.
>I actually don't play games online a lot, but it's nice that it's there, so that I >can dip in and out of it. It came in VERY handy during Demon's Souls.
And you don't play games online a lot? So how can you really talk about PSN? Demon Souls is an excellent game.
>What would be better is if the online play remained free and Sony offered a >subscription model that allowed players access to game and movie rentals.
>What if, for £5 per month, you could rent one PSN game and a couple of movies? >Once you'd finished playing the game, you could relinquish your "lease" on it and >download another. Something like this would likely have saved the Calling All Cars >servers, which were shut down because no one was playing the game!
XBL gets that now through netflix, and coming soon to Sony. Are you talking about a specific Sony propietary movie rental? Game rentals how? digital distribution on game rentals is a far way off. You are better off going through Gamefly or some other outside company. You mention pounds, are you in England? Do they have video game rentals there?
Game makers would NEVER allow this. Renting a game for 5 pounds? LOL Surely you jest
>There are lots of games on PSN that I would play, but given that they cost about >£10, are non-refundable and may actually turn out to be crap, I can't justify the >risk.
That's why you, you know, read reviews, talk to people who have played it, research online about it, play a demo if available.
>The movie rental feature would be a great incentive, too. PSN offers a hell of a >lot of movies to rent, but given that you can actually BUY a physical copy for >less (Aliens: £3 on DVD; £6.99!!!! on PSN), it's not worth it. >Also, PSN needs to make renting movies the priority over selling-to-own. There are >many films on there that I would much prefer to rent than buy.
You make it sound like PSN is designed just for movie rentals. It involves much more than that. Go on an XBL and you'll see how a better online experience works.
Your last point is an excellent one. It's the issue I have with digital download of games on XBL. They charge more for the downloaded material than if you went out and bought the physical copy!!! LOL So I can completely understand you gripe there and agree with you.
I was going to mod you and the previous poster higher but I HAD to respond.
This PISSES me off. I've owned every Madden since 06 on the Xbox360 and a few on the GameCube.
Year after year the manuals have been reduced to 4 page leaflets. My 04 Madden on the Gamecube came with a superb manual. It was excellent and showed they somewhat cared about making a polished game.
I can certainly understand the need to close say a 06 server, even an 07 and 08. But to close the 09? That's ridiculous.
You are correct it's all about money. I don't know the numbers but I guarentee Madden 10 sold less than 09. 09 was good, 10 less so. I despise EA and I will not buy another sports game from them. Sadly they have bought up other companies whose games I really enjoy. It just SICKENS me what they have done to this industry! The fact that there are no other football alternatives is pretty gross.
This is a direct message to EA I will never buy another sports game from you.
I can't believe all these browsers talking about speed and performance loading. It's a website for peet's sake!
FIX THE MEMORY ISSUES!
I have 4 add ons for FireFox(latest version) in Win7. 4 tabs open for 30+ minutes and the memory usage skyrockets. After 2 hours Firefox gets very sluggish. The same for IE.
My pages load fast enough. FIX the damn memory issues. Stop adding features. Stop trying to make the app sexy.
I'm in law school right now, yahhhhhh!!!!!!
After 12+ years in the IT industry, I saw the writing on the wall.

OMG, I gotta retweet that!
-Tweet Tweet!
Their cars ARE REAL.
This isn't like vaporware.
They have a legit chance to change the auto industry. I would love to support them.
iMerge(TM)
LOL I love that.
Here you can HEAR it...

It has become all too obvious that President Obama, himself, is the true distraction.
Don't you remember Verizon and other companies SUED people when they showed their websites were UNSECURE?
Can the banks file a lawsuit at him?
I can't stand companies not taking security seriously.
Remember when ATMs first came out? The data being sent from ATM to the bank's systems had NO encryption.
I just read this for the first time. AMAZING.
Sadly, too many people don't care, are too ignorant, worrying about the next reality show, and when to buy the next bag of Doritos(TM).
Griiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind!

COG TOWN!
and I'm sure Microsoft and Yahoo will be more than willing to fill in any gaps...
Looks ok now, the top link is a Reuters article:

No kidding
They're a business
Money talks, baby!
I don't care.
If this means more competition to the likes of Comcast and Verizon with internet in the home, so be it.
I am so sick of the cable companies stranglehold. It's obvious the FCC won't do anything about competition.
I'd gladly welcome Google.
Competition is GOOD.

The authorities are going to get you, meanie!!!
Wow I didn't know! Thanks for the clarification.

This can't be real????
Wow I didn't know this. Thank you very much!
Does Google Chrome do a better job with memory handling?
I use Firefox with NoScript and AdBlockPlus, which really makes my browsing excellent! Chrome doesn't have these addons/features
