No one wants to say it, but one factor that I think may account for increased Nintendo DS and GBA sales is the availability of flash backup cartridges and pirated ROMs. I don't advocate this, but why pay $40 for a game that can be downloaded for free in under 5 minutes? With the Sony PSP, hackers were just happy to get a web browser working on it.
I had a Sony PSP for 7 months, and recently sold it after completing the only two good games available for it. I waited and waited, but no more good games were released.

I thought the expression was "on opposite sides of the aisle," unless you're thinking that these two writers usually spend their time on opposite shores of an island.
Actually, I thought that the first movie that tried to make CGI look like real-life was 2001's Final Fantasy, The Spirits Within. It was a good effort, actually, if not a bit weak on the story.
I have one, too. But if you browse the somethingawful forums, (paid reg required) or any other message board frequented by geeks, probably 40% of them have some reference to their cat, either as their avatar pic, or somewhere in their.sig. Sheesh.
I'm looking into purchasing a 12.1" thin and light laptop, and came across the Uniwill 233II0, which is the same as the new Alienware Sentia. Anyways, the Uniwill can be bought as barebones from a few vendors on the net, and it ships with Power Cinema, which allows you to play audio CDs, mp3 CDs, view photos, watch DVDs without booting up the computer. I had Sprint PCS for 2 years, reception was terrible. I would be sitting in my apt talking, in the middle of Downtown Chicago and it would just drop. Called customer service to complain and argued with them about the poor service for 45 minutes...after that the poor woman said: "Can you call me back in a landline? I can't hear what you're saying." That got me out of the contract without paying the termination fee.
Rio introduced a new mp3 player this week based on the 1.5 GB Cornice "storage element." which is essentially a scaled-down 1 inch HD. RCA/Thomson, Iriver and Creative have similar players in the works. Granted $299 is too much to pay for the Nitrus, but I think this i inch HD opens up a whole new can of worms.
Is it just me, or does everything sound like a rehash of the Matrix/Terminator concept? Humans build robots, robots take over, humans form a rebel team to fight the robots they created...

Wait, you're a girl? And you read/post on Slashdot? Then it must be true. There really are more women than men on the internet.

Here's an interesting article on Van's Hardware about the Efficeon's thermal throttling properties. Apparently it's even slower than you think.

Also, Dr. Spock is (was) a pediatrician who influenced the way thousands of us were brought up.

Mister Spock was the Vulcan first office aboard the Starship Enterprise. I don't believe he ever received a doctoral degree.

Got it, works great. No problems here. Mild halos with night driving, but not enough to bother me.

BTW, if anyone's listening, Transformers is being made into a live action film, slated to open in 2006:

Taste aside, at least he set up his site on a server that's able to handle the Slashdot load.

Now I've got T-mobile...it rocks.
