I get these at least 3 times a day. I always click on the link to REMOVE myself (often it doesn't exist) and they keep on sending, I'd just block the sender but the entire email address changes on a daily basis. Please don't sign me up for any more porn u trolls!
Unfortunately I have to disagree with you on this. A mom and pop comp store can't compete with the quality service and support a company like IBM, DELL, or GATEWAY can provide me. And unlike the mom and pop stores there companies actually have R&D labs that they use to inovate their products and create the machines of tomorrow. The mom and pop comp store is just looking for the short term buck.
They stand to make a lot of money from their current model. Everyone knows of the "pay 21.95 a month for the next 3 years, get $400 off the cost of anything at BestBuy/CompUSA" They are selling a $200 dollar machine (maybe $600 to actually make) not to profit from the machine directly but rather to profit from service bought on a month to month basis.
One quick comment before I rant and rave. Why is Aimee Mann complaining, sure she's one of the greatest female singers alive today, but if I had to pay for it i'd just shell out 15-20 bucks on the Magnolia DVD instead of the 9-12 dollars just for the CD. how much on average do arists get per CD? (excluding ani defranco or whatever her name is) I'm sure some people wouldn't mind shelling out 3 dollars for an entire album if it ment that you could download it from a secure fast site. So why not try to market directly to the consumer? I know if aimeemann.com had an option like that i'd definatly opt for it (and of course available.iso's for me to buy) by pass the major record labels and all ya! down with the RIAA and MPAA

I wish every single person were equiped with one of these, then it'd make my Friday/Saturday nights a lot easier. I mean think about it, everyone always wants to meet someone who shares the same interests, and everyone is too scared to talk to find out who has the same interests, now we have a machine that says "hey this person has the same interests as me, and you know what? they're cute." so lets get the nerds swinging.
Imagine a country where the ratio is 10 guys (or more) to every girl (of child bearing age). That country is China in the year 2015 (somewhere around there, a rough estimate). We're looking at either a country where 80% (or more) will conform to homosexuality or beastiality (i'm not saying that these are bad choices). But if you introduce to the popular government run media a socialy excepted sexual relief medium (where 80% no longer have to poke eachother for jolies) they can just sit infront of their computer and enjoy and live their fantisies rather than tring a 10 guy in one girl gang bang (that poor little asian girl).

Dear or dear they should auction them off on ebay, i'm sure the russians could scrounge up some US Foriegn aid money to pay for them. And then disperse the money to the poor share holders of this doomed company
Well at least Sony will have all those bugs worked out by the time it is open to the US market. You can think of Japan as beta testing ground for the rest of the world, Pokemon (a success), and the PSX2 (still working the bugs out). Gotta love those japanise.
Yeah! Give Echelon all the cool toys so they can monitor out phone calls and track our neighbors better! Either that or auction all the stuff on eBay and give the tax payers a refund.
Lets see a person in State A buys something from state B via a catolouge ==> no sales tax. The same person in State A buys something from state B via the internet ==> sales tax. This doesn't make sence.
We won't be paying anything much for these things. I can't remember where i saw it, but they exist, they consume alot less energy than lcds and they're also just as bright as active matrix.
To hell with this wireless/portable appliances crap. Man, i don't know what that guy is thinking.. We're going to be growing computers big and small. With Neural Input/Outputs, and stuff. Quantum Computers man! I want to eat my computer.
We should create a group that would register patents usefull and non, and keep everything open to everyone.. but have a kind of GNU Licensing Agreement attached to it.
