3) Recreate the above folder as "root" to prevent google apps from installing the updater agent code again when re-launched
$ sudo mkdir ~/Library/Google
By changing the ~/Library/Google folder to be owned by root you should avoid going through this shenanigans again. Just check for a/Library/Google too and do the same to it. Don't give google apps your password.
You need Terminal.app experience for those commands. You can use the Finder too. After recreating an empty ~/Library/Google select File>Get Info. Use the permissions at the bottom to add the "Administrator" with read/write. Change "..(Me)" to read only.
Incomprehensible? 3 options, with cost directly related to speed,Dad went with the 1.5Mbit. Looks pretty comprehensible to me. Especially compared to the bundles that the local cable and telcos offer where I live. Those require a good spreadsheet ot track.
From these guys. It's purely line of sight, of course, but most of the town is line of sight to the tower. Works very well even in heavy snow, which Cedar gets quite a bit of. An average storm in Cedar would be apocalyptic in London,England.
Iran could have nukes anytime they wanted. May already have them. Has called, repeatedly, for the extermination of the Jews, and of various polytheists, plus certain Christians.
I think an openly theocratic government, that has called for the extermination of other religions' believers, and in possession of nuclear weapons, is exceedingly dangerous. I bet every nuclear power in the region is on Launch On Warning status right now.

Not surprised, the last issue was very thin, but still. First Byte (I still miss Byte, see this 10 year old issue for why.), then PC Mag, now DDJ. Ah well, another subscription to not renew.
Use quality DVDs. Redo the backup on a schedule such that everything is re-backed up every three years or so. Every month, say, you make one DVD. Keep the backups in a climate controlled, dark, secure place, such as a safe deposit box at the bank.
Short term:
Back up everything you want to save to an external hard drive weekly. Every three months swap it with a drive kept in the safe deposit box.
Daily:
If you have a Mac, use Time Machine. If Linux, some sort of cron job running a Python script that copies/home to an external hard drive. If Windows, I dunno.
Are at no risk even if most of the people around them aren't vaccinated. The failure rate for people who've had the full set of MMR vaccines is less than 10%.
Parents who don't get their kids the MMR vaccine put their kids at higher risk of getting those diseases. Kids who get those diseases are less likely to have children of their own. So as soon as herd immunity breaks down, the number of stupid people breeding drops.
Admittedly, I moved to Mac after 10 years running Linux, but the procedure, cut 'n' pasted below, seems simple enough.

Now I just gotta get that Cute Girl who thinks I'm creepy to turn it on so I'll always know where she is. Maybe I can call her from inside the house.

Nixon sold Chinese weapons to Afghanistan in 1979? Really?
You been hanging out with Phelps? Because it sure sounds like you been smoking something good.
From The Beeb: Mr Ahmadinejad said the satellite was launched to spread "monotheism, peace and justice" in the world.
Interesting. I wonder how the polytheist countries feel about this?
And, if Iran launches on Israel, the end. Of Iran.

they'd be the "consumed" rather than the "consumers", so no tax break. Unless you're talking about giving the robots a tax break.
may just have a point.
Net a Blade Runner Sequel? huh? Is "Net" the name of the proposed movie? Odd, if so.
Another AC\DC revival.
Most of the US Gov is banning USB key drives, music players plugged into computers, and any other read/write media.
Right. They've hardly touched Africa yet.
At least we're awake.

At least Linux Journal is still a Real Magazine.
No wonder so many of you are moving here. Feels just like home...
So not any better than any other pension these days.
A couple years old, but ext2fsx still works.
Much more readable than bash, infinitely more readable than perl.
