Microsoft's Maritz cracks on Redhat, tries to play Linux defense. Other neat tidbit: Judge Jackson notices that Linux has to give product away to compete with M$.
Maybe they're making a processor that you can flash with new instruction sets.. or something.. I dunno.
I'd try breaking into the place to find out, but ever since last time when they drove me to that secret location and beat the crap out of me, I have some doubts about actually getting in.:P
Maritz told Judge Jackson that a flurry of new applications and new vendors supporting Linux meant that relatively unsophisticated consumers would soon be using the operating system. As a result, he said, Microsoft would have to work diligently to keep pace with the market.
Microsoft produced a half-dozen magazine and newspaper articles to support its contention.
Methinks M$ was paying for some of the recent Linux news articles.. ZDNet must be raking in the Billy bucks now.. God damn you Microsoft!!&%8%@#
Ok, so return the unit to them, force them to remove Windows, and get the refund. Since it's still in the original packaging, that makes it impossible for them to prove that you used the unit (or Windoze) at all.
You'll notice slashdot is a "related link" on that page..
What they don't factor into those number is the fact that freely-available Unix has put a strain on the commercial Unix market, at least on the workstation side. NT is a minority.
Same goes for the server-side, which, conveniently, they fail to mention in this Microsoftian article.
Could it be that M$ has found its FUD campaigns ineffective and has reserved part of its Microsoft Special Task Force to undermine openly coded software?.... nahhhh..
My dad (drwii on Q-Link) supposedly has a free AOL account for life since he was one of the original beta testers of Q-Link.. Not that he uses it, though.. He's signed up on my ISP, which, incidentally, was started by a guy who was one of the original engineers and alpha testers of Q-Link's network and would be a multi-millionaire if Quantum hadn't fudged on their contracts. BTW, Steve Case used to hit the bottle on a regular basis.
In fact, I didn't know how much of my computer I'd never seen or how much of it I could control, personalize or change if I were willing to take the time.
good old Guessy Bust, never ceases to amaze me. "Oh Linux is baaaad! Stay away!" "Linux will get you fired!!" "I've always said Linux has a chance against M$" "Here's how to get your boss to use Linux"
Oh no! Microsoft has just came up with their usual knock-off clone of this encryption technology! Fortunately, the ROT26 source code has made it to the outside. Go to hell, Billy!

The best drive I've ever had (and still do have) is a Quantum Fireball 2.1 gig. That bastard has been running non-stop for a hell of a long time. Not a single problem from it.
Read about it on the M$ PropagandaPass website

Isn't that normal for an M$ OS?
I give this 0.00001 seconds in court before it's taken down.

this would make a nice console display for the World's Smallest Webserver ;>
Seriously though, something like this would be neat to pipe ruptime to or something..
This can't be good.. LINK
So if it gets slashdotted, will it burst into flames?

If only M$ would take a hint from Prodigy Classic and call it quits before Y2K arrives, the next century will be much more prosperous for everyone.

If Bell Atlantic is indeed "the heart of communication" as they say in their commercials, they desperately need a bypass operation.
There's alot. Trust me.
