I've tried a few such devices for hooking my MP3 player to my car, and they all sucked. Interference, bad tuning, low power etc.
Just suck it up and either get a head unit with AUX inputs (usually a headphone jack on the front) or get the neat doodad that allows you to use the inputs for the trunk-mounted CD changer that you don't use any more since you bought your iPod. Google PIE and AUX for distributors of those boxes.
...To Ronald Reagan than a FIVE FRICKING BILLION DOLLAR aircraft carrier. This will certainly help us maintain our naval superiority over the Spanish Armada.
Cripes, my grandchildren will still be paying interest on the man's wastefull stupidity, and probably be wondering why that damn missile defense thing still doesn't work.
My local solid waste authority has regular drop-off dates for computers (monitors too!) along with other household toxic waste (paint, solvents, etc.).
When one comes around that I'm prepared for, I pull the seats out of the Sienna and ride around filling it up with old monochrome monitors and crappy laser printers. Sure beats paying to have the monitors recycled...
..Mead picked probably the crappiest camera company possible to produced his first camera. Sigma is known for making low-cost, and relatively low-quailty aftermarket lenses for the big camera manufacturers. Others will argue with the same info that they were given by the camera salesperson who makes a comparitively huge commission on the Sigma (or ProMaster, or one of of Sigma's off brands), but trust me, they suck. (They might also say that Sigma builds lenses for the big camera manufacturers, also false) They've made a few cameras that have been embarassing flops.
I've talked to a few people who have used the Foveon Sigma and while they rave about the technology, the can't stand the camera for handling, feature set, etc.
What Mead needs to do is play whatever game Canon/Nikon/Minolta/Olympus wants him to play to get his chip in their cameras. Then it'll really take off.
Here in Columbus, somebody has methodically gone to every one of these signs and cut away the 'W' in 'WORK FROM HOME'.
I idolize the "ork From Home" guy. He/She also cuts off the phone number.
I OTOH ride around Columbus with a crowbar and my Gerber tool. Cut 'em down if you can't take 'em down. It also helps to have a tall van to stand on to reach the tall ones.
When I was a kid and had a newspaper route, my dad used to help me out on the days of *huge* papers.
One Thanksgiving day (the biggest paper of the year) we were driving to find some breakfast at 630am or some ungodly hour and rode past the neighborhood Frisch's Big Boy.
However, despite this, its VERY small, cheap (check it out here [buy.com], comes with cables), and I'd buy another one in a minute.
I'll second that. It's a nice cheap kit and hooks up in a few minutes. Nice cables included and simple keyboard-driven change. It also has a scan mode where it switches back and forth every few seconds.
I think that Daniel Schorr on NPR said it the best, "Pearl Harbor had a return address, Japan."
Even if Bin Laden did do this, whom do we attack? Where do we send the troops?
Pearl Harbor was clear cut. There was an enemy, and we knew were they were. It brought the horror of WWII home to America, and motivated and inspired the greatest wartime mobilization in history.
This attack and the reprecussions will certainly lean towards fear, confusion and sadly, isolation.
This is really a terrifying end to the American Century.
A couple of quick, easy steps:
1. Lose weight. That sysadmin/coder's gut is pulling your back the wrong way.
2. Excercise. Flab doesn't hold your back together the way toned muscle does.
3. Posture. Sit and stand so that you don't stress your back. Get a good chair and lose that gut!
There are even calls for the return of Steve Wozniak, Apple's vice-president of research and development from 1976-1985, a time when Macs held a strong position in the marketplace.
Does the writer even know that the Mac wasn't introduced until 1984? Or that Woz had nothing to do with the mac?
First a niggling technicality: Graffiti is not handwriting recognition, it is character recognition. Big difference.
That said my Newton 2100 has an awesome keyboard (still a choice for Palm users, as there is a converter) which is fully supported by the OS. Most (and all Apple-written) Newton apps have full keyboard support for menus and other functions. My Newt came out of the box with a great, fully-featured word processor (NewtonWorks) that can print via network, serial, and IRdA printers. Or, if I want, I can simply output a.rtf file for my dekstop. Or I can email the file.
Plus, if I want, I can hook up my keyboard to my newt, plug it into my ethernet network to handle mail and browsing, and pull files from a whole stack of 16mb memory cards.
I keep looking at one of those sexy Palms, but I haven't found anything yet to replace my green brick.
For instance, if you're smart (or lucky) the midwives you worked with were CNWs or certified nurse midwives.
Actually no. We wanted to have our baby at home, and here in Ohio, CNW's do not work outside of hospitals. In addition, CNWs are generally "supervised" by doctors, employed by hospitals, and beholden to HMO/Insurance company whims.
We chose to work with CPMs (Certified Professional Midwives) who are certified by the Norh American Registry of Midwives.
You should be able to sync to a Macintosh using Mark/Space's The Missing Sync just like I do with my ancient (over a year old!) NR-70v

Reports have them at 2x the speed of sound, and altitude of 200,000 ft. Not very good conditions for a bailout.
CBS seems to have the most hi-res footage of the breakup.
Analyist on NBC discusses launch/pre-launch dammage to heat sheild on the leading edge of the wing, that was deemed safe by NASA.

Is Andover's stock that worthless now?
Good to see it rising, as /. headlines Google News with a month-and-a-half old story...
You obviously never used a Newton 2000 or 2100.
Inkwell is based on the last iteration of the Rosetta engine behind the Newton's HWR.
The web space is nice, and the email unhitches me from whatever broadband pipe I've got running into the house.
Now, if they could offer a year free with the purchase of a new Mac.....

Should warm the hearts of all of you IP haters.

Freehand 10 has been out for months.
Native versions of Illustrator and InDesign (which is awesome, BTW)have been announced.
What everyone is waiting for is Photoshop. Once that is in place, and the performance is decent the users will move en masse.
Interestingly, I see the apps vacuum as a real opportunity for interesting apps and freeware/shareware.
Time to pick up that copy of RealBASIC!
Corel is a true piece of shit afak graphics apps go. Ranks right up there with M$ Publisher.

And his drunken spree of senseless postings
Who the hell went and made him an editor anyway?
I got some groceries, some peanut butter
to last a couple of days.
The article claims that the police found several "how-to books on computer hacking." Foo in a Nutshell perhaps?
Next, they'll be scheduling an O'Reilly book-burning.
