The link provides photos of the engine being both built and test fired and full disclosure on their findings.

While much further work is required, it seems that enough success was achieved by the 3rd party to warrant further study. The author even goes so far as to state:

"Scientists at BlackLight Power, Inc. have explained the above phenomena based on a hypothesis that, under certain conditions, hydrogen atoms can undergo transitions to energy levels corresponding to fractional principal quantum numbers. However, since the theoretical explanation of the BlackLight Process has entailed a reworking of quantum mechanics, the theory has not been readily accepted in the scientific community. Regardless of the theoretical explanation, the experimental data suggests that these plasma systems have unique characteristics that warrant further exploration for propulsion applications. "

Appearantly, they've seen through experimentation the behavior Mills has been claiming.

It's quite unfortunate that Apple chose not to go with the Cell and that IBM couldn't be bothered to deliver a laptop capable G5 in a reasonable timeframe.

My heavy hitters, and the ones I rely upon to help compose, shape and craft and add to the product as a whole and who have innovative ideas get at least 110K per year.

And I don't think my approach is all that unique.
Get in a core team of 2-3 Senior people to design, architect, mentor and lead and a rag-tag horde of underlings to do the grunt work.

So if these "average" programmers on H1-B are paid 20K less per year on average...
Is it really a statement on skill, or the fact that there are extra costs associated with an H1-B? Take into account the cost to the company of the H1-B status itself as well as importing and housing the worker. And that's before you get into wage expectations, where a 73K per year job might be perfectly acceptable to most Americans, a person from India would look at 56k per year as a pile of riches. Would they haggle over any offer made to come work in the US which offered riches compared to what they got in India? Hell, I bet you could get people to come over for 30k per year if you wanted.

So no, it's not about skill.
It's about offsetting additional costs and India being an employers market for employees who have far less expectations (and greater niavity) than their American counterparts.

Another day another story posted with a summary that can only be described as completely wrong.

Reading the summary did make me laugh though, when I left Seattle for a real city (SF) back in 2001, the Monorail project had already been started up and construction had commenced. So if they pull out now, they could very well end up having a several hundred million dollar infrastructure sitting there to rot -- and rotting quite promenently as they situated it through very busy streets.

But it might be possible that by shortening the scope of work, the contractors would pull out. And then the Monorail project could very well be as good as dead.

Personally, while I thought the monorail project was cool, I never really understood why the hell they needed it. They already have a top-notch bus system and the idea of extending the 1962 Worlds Fair Monorail into a city wide service seems rather superflous.
