An incendiary response but actually pretty insightful. I' m guessing that whoever modded you flamebait did not see that your tongue was in your cheek. the key words are "if we really wanted to". That hits the nail on the head. Could we stop illegals from crossing over? Stem the flow of drugs crossing the borders? Of course. How much money do we want to throw in that direction. Don't forget though, those mexicans are propping a large segment of our economy up with their cheap replaceable labor. Therefore we don't really want to stop them we just want to control and slow them down, as dysfunctional as the whole thing sounds.

If the question is ,"What makes America Great?" the answer is a loud and resounding, "IMMIGRANTS!"

  2. Your anecdotal evidence on Craigslist to Start Charging for Some Listings · · Score: 2, Interesting

is compelling: Every single person I've talked to about selling stuff says that they'll get 10 replies to an ad, and not a single person will actually show up. But the last two things that I sold on CL I only had to deal with one flake, the second guy came through and on time, as promised. The bad part is the people that flake out don't even call to say they are not coming. It is best to get a cell # or make them call 1 hour before the set time and place, and reconfirm. It is just good practice anyway. Matter of fact I sold a pair of huge speakers just last night to the second respondant to my ad. He got a good deal, and I got some Jacksons and more room in my apartment. It is good that they are doing something about the New York RE section, it is the worst in the entire world. Between the people that will sell you (ficticious) lists of landlords with no fee apartments to the fake (too good to be true) listings that are real estate agents trying to loop you in to their agency, the section is a far shot from what it used to be. It used to be the only place to find decent no-fee apartments in NYC. unfortunately the real estate industry has corrupted CL long ago just as they did the village voice before that. Thank god they are doing something about it. It is just to easy for the snakes to operate there right now. Buyer beware, as usual.

I do, as long as you have a fast ass mac. I have a dual 2.5 g5 and it runs well, but on my 450mhz single g4 you coudln't run anything else at the same time and not have tons of drawn out pinwheels. Then again, most things sucked wind on that old heap. Thats why I stuck 3 hard drives in it and made it my fileserver which it excels at, but I digress. Azureus also tons of great plugins, the coolest is the one that can scan an rss feed for your search terms and automatically add torrents for say, your favorite TV show, er I mean legal linux distro. Also I don't know what it is called, upnp i think, but it configures your cable/dsl router for you if you want it to.
Azureus basically rules. I haven't even gotten into half of the things it can do... I am never quite sure if I am spelling it right though.
