Did I miss something? I thought Windows XP home version did drop TCP/IP from the LAN choices. Did they add it back in?
Windows XP Home does have TCP/IP support.
The home version was made incompatible with most company LAN's forcing the use of the PRO version instead.
Windows XP Home does not have the ability to join domains. That is the feature that most corporate implementations require (and that functionality is what keeps corps from using Home... that and the RDP capability).
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/whichxp.asp gives a good rundown of differences in functionality.
Or you use SpamGourmet and set up your website to randomly generate the first field so that if a spambot spiders your address, the email is only valid for x number of times.
Not exactly a fair comparison. In the Microsoft version, you have not narrowed down the problem space at all. In the Linux version, you have narrowed it down to bash.
A better set of problems would be if the windows one was something along the lines of:
The command prompt in NT isn't coming up when someone types Start -> Run -> cmd.exe. Fix it.
I recently purchased an iPaq (monochrome) and am currently looking to get rid of it, simply because it is alot more cumbursome than my Palm 3x was. Unfortunatly, the iPaq stats do not include the carrying case, which makes it much harder to carry in a pants pocket.
Not to mention, after looking at the handhelds.org instructions, I wasn't too confident of my ability to install linux on it and it to remain usable.
I really wish people would mod articles like the above down since its obvious that these people:
1. Don't grasp the fact that Adobe didn't send the laywer after these people
2. Don't understand that in Germany lawyers can act on behalf of a company without contacting that company first.
My god, someone needs to get beating on some people with a clue stick... and people who moderate this stuff up to 2 and higher.
OK, I'm tired of seeing smartasses not look at the post and say that Taco can't add...
A penny to me and my ISP per 1k of spam.
That would mean a 5k spam would generate 5 cents of money owed to me and 5 cents of money owed to my ISP. 5 + 5 = 10 (in base 10).
Sheez.
I'm pretty sure you are comparing Celsius to Fahrenheit.
Unless, of course, by your statement I can conclude that you are not human, eat bread that is on fire (greater that 100 deg C.???) or enjoy taking showers in boiling water.
AFAIK, if a company declares bankrupcy, all assets have to be sold off to pay off as many creditors as possible. I'm sure one such asset would be the ability to sell and generate keys. Since the software could become 'unsupported,' it would be a pretty easy way to cause a steady influx of money for very little work. It could be valued the same way as a bond (i.e., pay $30000 now to get an income of $1000 a month until the software is obsolete).
Its got to be domain names... millions of dollars for some of them.
A lot smaller (byte wise) than a user id and password.
http://safari.oreilly.com? Searchable Animal books and more... keeps me from lugging around 10-15 books from work to home again....
Does anyone actually have experience with this?

A Darth Vader Beer stein??? Where? It'll look GREAT next to my Yoda hookah!!!
Shouldn't that be Debian GNU/Linux?
Use third party racks that allow for variable sizing of rails and better cable management than the standard 'vendor' racks:

Wow... and now an entire store believes that 'Linux is insecure'.
Way to be l33t!!!

Most source I've compiled has a nice little feature called:
/usr/src...
make uninstall
Which is why I keep all the source I've compiled in
1.7 doesn't appear to have any spyware additions on it... I think it started the release AFTER 1.7.
Double checked with ad-aware.
Typically if you get the blue protection error, there is enough information to debug it... especially with a phone call to MS Support.
.02.
It is even easier to fix under 2000, but is VERY doable under NT.
Just my
