    Ironic, considering that IMHO the Kung-Fu parts made it feel more real and the sci-fi made it feel phoney to me.. eye of the beholder I guess.

    ..that games from the 80's would be more of a mental trigger. They were much more simple, repetative, and pattern oriented. ..and most like playing those games would establish more specific and stronger base neural pathways than games of today.

    Games today would easily develop more complex and motion, space, and coordination oriented skills.

    I'd be interested to see what parts of the brain that different games stimulate.

    Wouldn't it be all right if the site said something like "This product is what we refer to as 'spyware'.. Spyware being.. (insert definition)"

    At least then they could label it as they please without having to bow to corporate labeling.

    please note..that is wrote "merits of their products *alone*".. I did *not* write that that companies were putting out crappy products and people had no choice but to use them, though they sometimes do.

    Actually the "cluebat" would be useful for many corporate CEO's... Apple included.

    If companies could be forced compete on the merits of their products alone (instead of trying to trap customers and lock them in), this world would be taking a step in the right direction.

    ..anyone who watched "Shawshank Redemption" probably realized the truth of the scene about an individual getting anything done by the government...

    Constant and unwavering pestering.. and when they show signs that they've acknowledged you.. increase your efforts.

    A dozen letters while it seems like a lot isn't going to do squat until in impacts the workflow of the congressmans office...

    *You* know they aren't listening.. let them know that! Keep pestering them until they ACTUALLY answer you. Right now they are giving you the "go 'way boy.. ya bother me" routine.

    Keep going.. don't let them wear YOU down.. wear THEM down.

    I agree 100% on accountability, BUT e-voting is like any other technology something that can make the system much quicker and more efficient.

    It takes a lot of time, effort and man power to count thousands or millions of votes. eVoting would defintely speed up and cheapen that process...

    but again, I agree that before e-voting takes off there must be accountability on par with or better than our current system.

    So basically are you saying that it's possible for a nations power to last indefinitely? Because in order for the whole philosophy of preventing for war via military strength actually depends on power lasting indefinitely.

    Otherwise I do believe the statement would prove false.

    Ironic statement... That to secure peace one must build up enough strength to make others fear you thus leading to increased tension and eventual conflict.

    We would literally become prisoners on our own planet with tons of debris flying everywhere from destroyed satellites...

    Of course we as people have the ability to think and make rational choices... let's hope this holds true.

    At least they weren't wasting any time before they obviously started bending the law..

    they could have at least waited until the Patriot Act was permanent before they started pulling this sort of stuff.

    On the bright side maybe the Patriot Act *won't* become permanent because of these kinds of actions.

    Because average people are the mass of this nation.. a wealth creating population is a wealth creating nation. Money needs to circulate.. money is the lifeblood of a nation.

    A wealth hoarding population creates a lack of wealth a creation of classes and ultimately a failure of the system.

    Being a former mac gamer, this is exactly what PC game developers did to the mac platform... and I don't need to tell you the state of mac gaming these days in respect to the number of titles available.

    It isn't all that surprising to me that Halo PC has been released roughly three? years after the Xbox version was released, when Halo2 is almost done for XBox.

    While MS isn't really trying to kill of PC gaming, it's surely depriving it of a good dose of oxygen..as far as MS game titles are concerned.

    I'm not fearing for PC gaming yet, but it seems that there is more pressure to switch to a console these days..

    This post is of course IMHO.

    There should always be alternatives. I think it's a fair assumption that not everyone wants to be tracked. A higher toll charge should be implemented for those people who do not wish to participate in the toll tracking system.. That way you may pay a little more but you don't have to fear big brother.. or if you are more trusting of the state and or technology it would be cheaper to go that route.

    However as pricing goes I would not be surprised if the "offline" toll would be so stupidly expensive that it would practically force people into the tracking system out of "practicality" rather than convenience.
