I would love this for my backpack, so I could find the stray pencils or my long lost stapler that I know is lurking near the bottom. Also I had a vision of the breifcase from pulp fiction.
There is very little reform in our judicial system. Lawyers want the system as screwed up as possible to keep themseves as relevent as possible and make them apear to earn their keep. Big business likes the legal system because it allows them to use SLAPP tactics, and get away with it for far less than correcting internal problems. Many people are afraid to let lawmakers have any say in the issue for fear that they will only make things worse (name one good reform and I can name three bad). Also Strangly there is still some respect for judges in this country, They are seen as the uncorruptable link in the system regardless of the truth of that statement. I am afraid that all databases like this will do is alow the folks with money to better game the system.
missed isn't quite the right term. Try didn't see. You didn't miss anything. It was a live action summer special effects movie that had none of the charm of the origanal since the effects were all cgi.
The new controller opensmany neat arenas that have never been handled well by any controller I have ever used. This could creat a very interesting sword fighting game, going with the novel theme we seem to get with nintendo, a game where you conduct an orchestra. The first person shooter set up sounds intersting, and I can hardly wait to try it. And strangly enough I could see a fly fishing game being a huge success. Looks like I am buying one.
I am running a 450 mhz box, that up until about two months ago was running windows 98. It ate a bunch of files when it crashed, and I was getting ready to do a fresh install when a freind at work gave me a ubuntu disk. The start up is a bit slower than 98 was, but it doesn't crash very often. (I crashed it good yesterday). The machine feels faster now and I can do anything I could do before, except talk to my crappy print server.

There is a saying about an exception proving a rule. In this case it is sadly true, To say that others have it worse than american blacks, is not to say that they do not have it bad. Saying chirstian women ia saudi have it worse is a lot like saying, "it could be worse, it could be raining". As a nation, and as a world, we need to work to provide everyone with the educational resouces to succeed, but we need to do it without quotas, or forced integration. This is not an easy thing to do.
Because I am unclear on this.. IF we could up date the firmware with every disc I put the machine, why would I have to hook my movie player to the internet? And why again do I need to hook another thing to my precious hub (which is already full)
excell handles curve fits much better than open office, and it statisical anaylis of data is much better also. As for improvements, The optimize function, doesn't seem to work as well as I would like, Also I would like it to have symbolic integration and derivation built in so I don't have to switch back and forth to maple. Oh yeah and the autocomplete could stand to be more predictable. Most people I discuss this with don't even know what I am talking about, so these are most likly not killer apps
This is miles off topic, but I mod fairly frequently (I even have the gold plated crack pipe) and I never look at user ID when I do it. It is also my experiance that people with low ID's don't give a fig about karma, because they hit the cap years ago. I know that I would rather have a reply than a moderation any day of the week. I posted this without the Karma bonus, because this is offtopic.
One thing I enjoy doing, in my pool is sitting on the bottom all alone and staring at the sky. With my weight belt I can do it for slightly more than a minute, but for that minute I am wonderfully relaxed, and I can think about nothing but holding my breath. I bet doing this would play hell with the system.
I was using BBedit, and wrote a fairly simple script to update all of the copyright statements that were hard coded in several thousand web pages, it worked fine on several test pages, but when I told it to do the whole server, it just erased the pages and saved a new blank copy. Thank god for a back up that was only three days old
Astrologers, will use this new planet as a reason for mistaken predictions in the past. The smart ones will be writing up all new books on on cosmic predictions, taking this new planet into acount. The charts are always being updated, getting more complicated, but with no more truth than a random number generator.
The TSA was a bad idea, it costs much more than the previous group of morons did, and don't do a better job than the last group of morons.
Instead because its goverment we get Grandmothers, and children stripsearched, because profiling is bad. I can't help but believe that the level of incompedance is intentional, setting the agency up to be dissolved (privatized) with a juicy contract to Haliburton
I played the sims when it first came out, it ran kind of crappy on my machine got bored with it and havem't played in ages, but with minimal time in play it was far more soft core porn, than hot coffee will ever be
on the sims2 there is a simple one word cheat you can type and eliminate the blurring, giving you access to far more nudity and sex than the hot coffie hack, to be fair the hot coffie section is more graphic. but the sims 2 is still rated T
I remember years ago back before games came on cds, you could install the entire game on your hardrive, but you had to keep the book around, or some kind of decoder wheel, because each time you fired it up the game would ask for a pass code. I thought that sucked at the time, but I think it was less horrible than the games that are limited by the speed of my cdrom, because it can't do a full install.
for the most part walks are recomended, because nearly everyone can do it, it doesn't take any special equipment, and it is a pleasant thing to do while having a converastion with someone worth talking to. On walks I find I notice neat things like the way the work crew put one of the manhole covers upside down two months ago and nobody has fixed it yet, or the neat flower that my neighbor planted. If you hate walking fine, read a book, write a book, troll on slashdot, anything but watch the mind sucker for hours on end. Oh yeah and the reason I hate TV so much is because it is so passive, you just sit there and turn into some sort of blob melting into your couch. At least with video games you are thinking or twitching as the case may be.
"River was described in the pilot as excelling in dance." interesting side note in episode of angel after Firefly was canceled, we get to see her (Summer the actress who played River) do ballet. Odds are that would have happened at some point on firefly if Fox wasn't run by asshats
...when will this tech translate over to our wallets? :)
:(
As a man you should know that it will effect your wallet the moment it becomes the hit status symbol. she buys one and your wallet is lighter

mix in a pint glass, with no ice.
It tastes better than it sounds

"What California is to the US?"
Vastly superior.
but the lights had gone out, and so had the stairs

I am against this, because I was only for stem cell research as a byproduct of killing babies.
