If I had to refill something just to run my laptop i would be VERY resistant to it! My laptop is not a bloody car.
If the duration of the 'charge' (fuel? or what would you call that in relation to a fuel cell?) is a very long time such as a week or two of continuous operation then it wouldn't be nearly as bad (assuming you didn't have to pay an arm and a leg - btw, how much does it cost to refill a standard laptop battery in electricity?)
Look at a few of the games lately, WC3 shipped with both mac and win versions on the same cd, SC4 is coming out for the mac, Moo3 just shipped with portability IN MIND, and mac is coming quite soon now).
This is a bit of a trend that is becoming more common. What I think is that Microsoft wants to stop this sort of thing or make it extremely difficult. While it would be natural for that, Microsoft might have an ace up its sleeve trying to make something very tempting to use.
I buy software, I expect it to perform as advertised. In actuality I believe that for it to be on sale, it must be fit for the particular purpose for which it is intended. I honestly do not put any stock in any license agreements for software for which I have physically paid for. They are protected by copyright, sure, but their license is another thing entirely. I believe British courts have already ruled on this sort of point.
If I had money to back up my beliefs, then I might actually do something, but otherwise, I am a little guy they give dick shit about. (They already have my money, they aren't about to lose anything else).

Those two 'Y' logos look awfully similar in concept don't they?
The United States starts world war 3, civilization is destroyed.
Some star charts (showing names...) and 2010 (the book) survive.
Except for in this new century of 2100s, they take the book literally, and think that God owns Europa and forbids you to go there. Edan is not for you, my children.
hehe
Best level!
Nothing like a lot of whatever you call those things with the mini-me spider demons:-)
I once made a level that literally had around 100 SS soldiers facing a cyberdemon. You opened the door, disturb the cyberdemon (he sees you), you close the door, and then listen to the carnage.
For a very enjoyable game, imagine a level that is a figure 8 and has upto 8 cyberdemons in it with lots of ammo and teleporter in the figure 8's two inside areas.

No Operating System -85$ (cdn)
They also have the same option (-85$) for choosing Linux.
Any decent os (Win2k, WinXP in this case) should prevent any access to the boot sectors without authorization. I bet you would need to really bitch at linux or freebsd to let it do that crap. In MacOS X you definately would need authorization from the user.
What would you think of an interactive medium that was like a shiny piece of paper?
On 'andromeda' the tv show they have these things that are basically shiny pieces of paper that are like an interactive screen, hell you can play video on it:p
"I checked the CCK Project page at Mozilla.org -- it appears to be pretty inactive. I checked out the Netscape 7 CCK, which is pretty robust but doesn't do everything I want and it's proprietary -- plus, I don't want all the NS7 proprietary crap on my network. "
I hear you brother!
But...
"No shipping, no retail costs, no packaging."
Retail Costs: website design, webspace rental
Packaging: encoding each file, choosing name, and presentation on website, and rediculous DRM
Shipping: Bandwidth/Transfer to download (think like microsoft, apple - use a third party)

They must stop this madness now!
Do you think I want children 'researching' oral sex, or discusting masturbation in a public library? It is completely evil!
If this doesn't go past, you will automatically start to see bums jacking off in libraries!
Or gay rings in public schools!
We Must Put a Stop to This!
This holy law must be passed!
Then you would effectively have a lot more value for your money!
