Maybe off topic, but 'yet another language'?
Where c++ may do too much:
Templates
Operator Overloading
Go back to a simpler time... then giveth objective C!
It has the 'named' parameters (in its own way), arbitrary message handling (methods to everybody else), hell even a traceback!
Not even java has operator overloading, there maybe a reason.... (reduce ambiguity?)
We need simpler languages, not progressively 'general purpose' languages... a 'CISC' language vs. 'RISC' lange...
Objective C is just that... simple.
Project Builder absolutely sucks for debugging on its own. But, I use it for break point management, but from there I use the GDB console it has. I know dick about getting gdb upto that point, but PB does it nicely. Then I can use p for a normal inspection, and po for an object inspection. I like it. If it weren't for the GDB console, PB would really suck debugging. But with it, it rocks!
I bought my grandmother some books for Christmas. All of them are old enough to be out of copyright. One of them didn't have any copyright notice in it at all. Another had this edition copyrighted, and the third had a plain copyright. The third being all of shakespear's works.
How can any company put a copyright on public domain material like this? These works were over a hundred years old (books were new).
Objective C rocks and should be promoted more! It beats C++ at gui apps any day.

Give it up please! We have seen more than one of each of those 3. It is getting a little tiring.
Mac is always cheaper because you don't need to service them as much. Linux is always cheaper because its free, and you can manage crap loads of machines. Windows is always cheaper because you only have to upgrade every two years and they never need service.
You haven't been reading what people have been saying about this have you? There is nothing stopping them from using binary in XML. If they don't then great, yes it wouild be open, but if they do use binary you can forget it.
The website owner might say theft, but if you block the ad that you wouldn't actually buy from anyways - aren't you saving money for the advertiser to advertise to somebody that might be interested?

Hey mac, Red Sonja was a good movie! The beastmaster - never saw any movie, but the series is mostly good.

There were no foot notes that I saw, but I could be mistaken.

maybe for the reason the slashdot blurb said that you are replying to
They always are redundant when others are modded higher after.

How can the government ensure your security if you use public pay phones?
Use your cell phone, or get one! That way your phone records are just a computer away from the people protecting your safety.
Do not assist the Terrorists!
nice 'switch' thing, but I hate to tell you this - iBooks aren't 64bit.
Everything else seems to have a patent, why not these :-)
...does everyone that you are linked with automatically become a member too?

It has been in beta since before 98.

70 some-odd mile internet range? That would cut out a lot of potential profit from a market for some companies...
Where does apple sell the parts?
The others can just get their numbers from the list.

License before or after you have a project?
An angle that entered my mind:
The website owner might say theft, but if you block the ad that you wouldn't actually buy from anyways - aren't you saving money for the advertiser to advertise to somebody that might be interested?
The endless lightbulb - the myth of the bulb that would never go out and stay strong forever.
Can this be done? I do not know, but I do know that nobody would make them because of being predisposed to a declining market.
The same is about electronics.
