I just bought a 900$ 4:3 HDTV. It's very nice and has built in Dolby Pro Logic decoder. I got it for my gamecube and xbox, and the picture is very sweet. I don't think 900$ is so outrageous for an 27" HDTV set.
Speaking of rice though, you should avoid white rice. That is very bad. Have you heard of the atkins diet? The idea behind the diet is to avoid foods which raise your blood sugar, and carbs raise your blood sugar. An important fact that the diet overlooks is that some carbs raise you blood sugar a lot more than others. White rice will raise your blood sugar a lot, while rice bran will barely raise it at all, making it an acceptable food. If you look around you might be able to find a glycemic index on the web which lists which foods raise your blood sugar, and by how much.
Everyone needs time to be unwind to turn themselves off (you know what I mean). I always hear quotes about how much time people waste watching television, but it's not like they would be learning french, or helping the poor if it weren't for television. People spent plenty of their time being idle even before television. By the way, novels used to be looked at in the exact same way as television is today. Sure it's entertaining, and sometimes interesting and even informative, but it's still a waste of time. That said I will give no one the argument that sitcoms are not for the most part a big waste of time 8^)
So I suppose that makes it wrong then, right? Are you suggesting that we shouldn't have gone into Afghanistan? Because that would be a very bold suggestion.
I suppose you're right, but it's not about whether it's "easy" or not, it's just they're not used to low RAM with high bandwidth. I guess you *were* talking about whether it's easy to code for or not, but that's just my kneejerk reaction to people who bash the PS2 for having so little VRAM. The thing is that I don't even own a PS2, so I don't know why I'm defending it. I'm still trying to decide between resenting the PS2 for having great games, or just giving in and getting one.
Do you know what the bandwidth is on that "limited" amount of VRAM (4MB)? It's around 50 - 60 GB/sec. You don't need much RAM with that much bandwidth.
You don't know too much about the Nintendo/Square controversy. Square decided not to develop for the Nintendo64, and Nintendo (Yamauchi) didn't hold any grudges. But for some reason (I think I can guess), Square started convincing other developers to leave Nintendo for Playstation. You should know, Square has been begging Nintendo to let them release games for the gamecube and GBA. Now, I'm not saying that FFX would be on gamecube, but if Yamauchi weren't so stubborn, you would see Square games on gamecube.
Gamecube has the Resident Evil franchise exclusively. Also, look at games like Eternal Darkness. There are others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. Granted, Nintendo will always release more games that are targeted towards young kids than the other consoles, but that doesn't preclude them from making "dark" (I'm not talking about perfect dark) games, if you're into that sorta thing.

Ok, I think we're on level ground now. The way I was looking at it was he was deciding between PS2 and another console, but then when Sony decided to be a dick about backups (and region codes), he then chose the other console, on principle.

Why is that so hard to believe? Maybe He is wavering between and PS2 and another console, and the fact that he can't back up his games is what makes the decision for him.
I don't buy DVD's because of this whole DMCA fiasco, do you find that hard to believe????
Well, if you look through the gamecube manual, you can see that Nintendo is keenly aware of teh physical "dangers" in player video games. Seizures, repetitive motion injuries, electric shock (for the do it yourselfers), motion sickness, and the Class I laser device are all named in a series of warnings. Nintendo is going all out, the motion sickness one is funny:
Playing video games can cause motion sickness. If you or your child feel dizzy or nauseous when playing video games with this system, stop playing and rest. Do not drive or engage in other demanding activity until you feel better.
It seems Nintendo is covering every possible angle in preventing a lawyer like this guy from giving them a hard time.
Considering the way a child's exposure to a certain culture or phenomenom invariably instills those values in that child, I would think that the burden of evidence is on you.
Why don't you read the article again. Or for the first time. The organization is just pointing out products that are mismarketed or inaccurately rated. You will not find an M-rated game marketed to adults on the list.
Heat rises? That's only when the heat is in the form of a gas. Hot liquid does not rise more than cold liquid.
By creating a low pressure chamber, of.43 psi, you can lower the boiling point of water to 80 fahrenheit, which is the water temperature at the equator. This will move the turbines. The 40+ degree temperature difference will be more efficient than the one in the article. The question though, is whether it's practical or not.
The mechanism is more complicated than that, and in the book "The Millenial Project," the author, Savage, describes it in greater detail. It is incredibly thorough.
dude, you only need *1 Km* because any less would not create enough of a temperature difference. Besides, the tower does not extend above the water, but down into the ocean. It is not essential that the tower is 1 km, only that the temperature difference is high enough. With water you find a *much* greater temperature differnence. And like I said, it would go towards the ocean floor, not the sky.
The reason, I believe, is that it would take an enormous effort (if possible at all) to have collection devices that can handle all that voltage at once. And since it comes in short bursts, they can't opt for a lower voltage over time. Of course, as mentioned in a previous post, people are quick to say "it's impossible; if it were possible it would've been done before." So who knows, I why don't you take a crack at it.
That would be the sensible way to do things, but time and time again that principle has been violated.
Did you mean surfarce area, or did you mean the area of the base, or the footprint?

Dmitri Skylarov.
It's not necessary for him to read it. All he needs is to just look at how it's being applied. Ever hear of Felten?
Idiot? Fool.
Well, it can see whether you fast forward during them (assuming it's recorded), and whether you change the channel (if it's live).

What *interest*? I don't think they're taking out loans, they're getting cash from VC's in exchange for a part in the company.
