I'm sure it's a good idea, and it might happen eventually, but do we REALLY need it? I'm sure when we need it, it will be created. It's not like we have any significant off-earth human activity. All the important stuff is going on down here. So we're cool. Jeez, you make it sound like it's a crisis or something.
Is there any particular song out there that is available in AAC for your iPod but not available in WMA for a portable player? Or are you saying that the WMA services give you an OPTION of getting certain songs in a non-portable format (presumably for less of a cost, or more of the non-portable songs allowed per month)? I'm not disagreeing, I'm just asking.

Actually, you're wrong, there are TRUE random number generators. There's no such thing as a SOFTWARE random number generator, but there are certainly random number generators, for example, a die (dice). They even make random number generators using the random movement of molecules as a source that can be hooked up to your computer for true random number generation.
You say it like YOU'RE the scientific innovator. There is no scientific principle here that we're talking about anyway, you're just talking about non-existent technology.
I happen to agree with you, but that's besides the point:)
The problem with the game for me is I usually don't know WHY I'm doing anything. Why exactly do I want to "zoom in" and how will that help me get more V-points or whatever? How will speeding everything up help me to kill all these enemies?
Even if I do well one round or something, I'm just not feeling it. I'm never quite sure what I did right to give me a good score.
I'm just disappointed after all those good reviews.
And yeah, I was thinking about getting Prince of Persia, but maybe it's smarter if I rent it first this time.....
Yes, I did play it. In fact, I read so many GLOWING reviews of this game on/. in this story, that I ran out to buy the game.
This is my opinion: the game SUCKS. It's not a platformer like Super Mario World or Mega Man, it's really more like a dance game than anything else.
I'm not saying that it's not possible that I just don't understand it or know how to play. But I think it SUCKS and I don't get any pleasure out of playing it.
Sorry, but this is bullshit. The game sucks. Everyone says its good, but its completely retarded. The game may have a 2D perspective, but it has less in common with Super Mario World and Mega Man than it does with Parappa the Rapper. This game is more of a dancing game than a 2D platformer side-scroller.
The difference is, a record, tied to your personal identity is being kept on exactly where you were and when and what speed you were going. Sorry to inform you but THAT FUCKING SCARES ME.
And, as far as public transport, Metrocard and the like scare me for the exact same reason. But at least with a metrocard you can buy it with cash and just throw it out.
Nope, iTunes has been around for years. He's talking about the player, not the store. And I imagine that if it works with the player it works with the store.
I still think that men are the primary game players and that this survey is slightly faulty. It only says what percentage of people consider themselves gamers. The fact of the matter is, this was a POLL, which assumes the people answering are telling the truth. I'm not saying anyone is lying, but now it's considered cool to be into games, to the point where people would say yes even if they really didn't play that much.
Also, I think most women who play games play because their boyfriend plays. I would bet that most women "gamers" don't really know all that much about games.
Maybe you would do it. I'm not disagreeing. I'm just saying it's bad for the internet. This is almost as bad as cable ISPs blocking out video streams for more than 10 minutes.
You don't think AOL has crossed the middle ground by blocking out ENTIRE DOMAINS? Not just CI Host, but the SBC DSL in California, or whatever it's called, has also been blocked. What's next requiring a license to run an smtp server?
I don't mean to use the slippery slope argument though; blocking entire domains is bad enough.
you're stupid
Videocassettes are MORE expensive than DVDs, to produce.

I've never dropped MY iPod....
An airplane that flies at 30k feet usually has a pressurized cabin.
The thing is, I *want* to like it,maybe I just don't get it. I just don't see anything fun in it. Whatever.

Maybe because it only has, um, 256MB of memory?

The warning "State Prison: Do Not Stop for Hitchhikers" isn't even that dumb. It's quite funny, but it's a great warning.

No. Openness, in standards and in access, is what makes the internet so great.
You guys are so wrong. This is wrong. They're effectively destroying exactly what makes the internet great. Don't you fuckin defend that.
