They can't just strike deals with everonye that distributes linux and add their 'touch' to it. You can't 'buy' Linux. You can have all the companies in your pocket that you want, but at the end of the day, it's still going to be free and maintained by developers from all over.
You know I had only got one 419 scam maybe 4 years ago on hotmail. Then just recently I've got maybe half a dozen on a gmail account that hardly gets spammed at all. I thought it was just me.

Since the United States is pretty good at surveillance we should monitor Canada's citizens for them because they can't seem too, I bet we would get bonus points for that. Maybe even the high score.

Ok, I see your argument, how do you even figure PayPal as being an immoral company, every company has people that are dissatisfied. As far as I know they haven't broken any laws, and are not under investigation. They provide a widely used service. Now if you were the sysadmin for a 419 E-Mail scam operation, I would totally agree with you that it would be wrong to "just follow orders". Where legally and ethically the company is in the wrong.
Yeah seriously, I mean could you imagine working there and how rattled you would be from it all? Those people are just trying to make a living like everyone else. The fact that some people think their service sucks is irrelevent, it doesn't constitute planting a bomb. Whether it was a serious attack or meant as a gag, it's still not very funny.
1. Bandwidth; until ultra high speed internet connections are available everywhere, it will hinder innovation. Corporations can afford these lines DS3/OC3+++ but the average home user still has a crappy dsl connection or dial-up god forbid. Not exactly enough to run soley on web based content. Could you imagine Windows going even slower if it was Web Based?
2. Reliability; Using all web apps or a web based OS would be ridiculous. What happens when your DS3 circuit goes down at your company? Yeah sure we already rely on the internet for job related things and internet downtime does kill productivity, but it doesn't render your computer useless, you can still write code, do accounting stuff or whatever it is that you do.
See I knew that was wrong, because I was thinking my property taxes are due biannually, and I pay twice a year. I was like if thats the case then I've been pay like four times what I should be.
I read it the same way first, but I was thinking "what company would name a processor platform after the amish?" that would be like naming a car after a turtle

With the continued growth of Firefox, there are still a lot of users out there that do not even know they have a choice as far as browsers go. Is there any effort to reach the average joe consumer, other than word of mouth, and if so what would that strategy be.
One of Red Hat's arguments is that the security and hardware certs will be voided because of Oracle's changes, most natably the Security cert with the U.S. Governent. But for how long? I don't see it taking that long for Oracle to "make things happen" considering the size and power of the company. If history is any indicator, if Larry Ellison wants something, he'll get it.

What if the government censors it, you might accidently walk off a cliff or something
Funny coming from a guy that works at one of the biggest failures in console hardware
Maybe the companies that outsouce IT jobs to companies in India will outsource the job's due to lack of staff back to the United States.

Most people aren't trying to make a statement by choosing where they work. They just want to collect a paycheck. Simple as that.

The little shadow child in the first Silent Hill, you couldn't kill it, and it didn't hurt you, it just followed you around. Creepy.

1. Make start-up company with an "innovative" idea, (i.e. ANYTHING considered Web 2.0)
2. Wait for Google to buy you
3. Retire and relax

Another street fighter movie? While we are at it lets make another Super Mario Brothers and Wing Commander.
