Bouncing HTML mail back to the lusers who send it takes care of that problem 95% of the time. HTML mail is nearly as annoying as top-posting [demon.co.uk] to Usenet.
I'm digressing (well, _you_ brought it up), but I found this little blurb once about top-posting:
A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?
I've heard this argument before. However, I've never heard a good answer to the follow-up: wouldn't whoever is locked out of the natural resources move onto another energy source, and thus move into the future ahead of those dependent on fossil fuels?
What other energy source? The wind? The sun? Your dreams?
Second, while they advertise themselves as DBAs, there is only one that I marginally trust. We have had to create detailed instructions for doing simple things. They take days to do what I can do in hours, and often fail at what I consider simple, bread-and-butter DBA tasks.
I had a colleague from India show us pictures from a visit to India. Next to a coconut stand the walls were plastered with Oracle and Visual Basic and other software posters. Just start hacking and you are qualified!
Then take a gander at this: The Return of Stagflation. The signs are there, especially the general cluelessness & helplessness of the financial kingpins.
Security through obscurity should never be one's ONLY line of defense, but as anyone truly into security knows, it IS a good idea to have it as a PART of one's defense. There's absolutely NO reason, other than OS evangelism, to advertise what kind of security you have. It's not the business of businesses to worry about helping advertise their choice of OS or security technology.
I'd add that obscurity only helps when _all other pieces_ of security are in place. That is, it's a bit of icing.
I've been wanting to set up an OpenBSD installation on one of my boxes for a few months now but the task of installation looks rather daunting according to their FAQ.
OpenBSD is way easier than any Linux. Pf bodyslams iptables for ease. Package management (ports) rocks, Gentoo sees the advantage. Plus, development is not random (wink wink over to the SCO thing).
Microsoft has had anti-trust trouble since, I think, 1997. With enough money in the bank to run the company without profits for decades, they will be able to hire whatever celebrity attourneys are necessary to win the case. This is run-of-the-mill Microsoft business.
I personally hate the entire idea of telephones. The idea that when they ring you should interrupt whatever you are doing and answer them just seems impolite.
You don't have to be a slave to the phone. I just ignore it when I'm not inclined to answer. It's quite easy.
I think you're really Lavar Burton.

Bad analogy, because cheese is good anytime (unless you mean American cheese [barf!]).
As Bismarck once said about governments, "Nothing is confirmed until officially denied."
Is Truth. RIP.
The existence of the CIA should be enough for most sentient beings.
What other energy source? The wind? The sun? Your dreams?
But, ACKK PHFFFTPPPT!!! are they from Microsoft? Ack Phfffpt!
It appears that many people don't like the IRS and that's sad because the IRS is the driving force behind many many _many_ jobs.
Not exactly. Some OSs are more equally as vulnerable than others.
Pre-emptive war. Q.E.D.

We're in a major recession. The standard of living is dropping. It's happening. Printing money (aka "Lowering interest rates") won't change it.
Wal-Mart.

Donate it to the EFF.
You've come to the right place, pardner. While none of us really _is_ a lawyer, each of us is more than willing to pretend.
If would be funny if they hired David Boises.
A "Do Not /." List for websites.
...and I'm here to help you.
Guess the "interesting" moderations _really_ meant "uninteresting", but that's not an option. But we'll take Karma any way it comes, eh?
There is an astoundingly _simple_ (not easy) solution to this: stick to the books. Bag all the movies.
