I know this. I am not really "fat" (13.1% body fat), I am just big. Not an excuse, I have been jogging and taking extra steps and eating better, I would like to be a nice round 100k.

I love the metric system, as do most geeks I know, it's just so damned logical and organised. I am 1.8796 meters tall, and I weigh 111.13 kilos, before someone asks. I don't know why we are the only country that does not use the metric system, just to be different?

There is probably an added element of danger with it being space and all. It probably evens out with the pioneer days, animals, weather, etc.

I would still suit up and hop in if asked. Granted, I have zero experience flying (although I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!), but I would still do it. The view alone would be enough to make me happy before I die. These guys knew what they were doing, and that minor things do go wrong. Minor things can be catastrophic things at 3.2G, though. We are all glad that the pilot was unhurt.

  7. Re:Major car companies? on iPod Your BMW Officially Launched · · Score: 1

You could make the argument that every car company is doomed because it has such a "small" market share. It is very hard to saturate the automobile market, because different people want different things from their cars. Some people like the BMW, some work on a farm and need a big old truck, some are hippies and want hybrids, some want the kitschy Mini or PT Cruiser, etc. I could go hunt down the US market numbers for particular car companies, but I am too lazy. However, I doubt very seriously that any one company has a huge lead over another. If you want to criticise a company, criticise VW, their cars are a freaking pain to work on, you need special (expensive!) tools to work on them.

My very lo-tech solution is to get a cable from radio shack, plug it in to the aux input of the ipod, either set up a playlist, put it on random, or , if you are like me and memorise the controls and placement of menus, control it from the iPod itself.

That is just asinine. An opinion would be "gee, I hope Bush wins." This went about ten steps further to the "we will deliver the state for you." I wasn't bashing Bush, I do not know where you managed to infer that from. If anything, I was bashing Diebold. I could articulate in great detail why I dislike the current administration, but it has been done to death, far better than I could ever hope to communicate here. I rather prefer to not pettily bash our current President. But to be fair, using your logic, I have the right to express my opinions, I just choose to take the high road.

I am not sure if this is a troll, but I will respond anyway. If you are the CEO of a company that provides election services, you should not be biased one way or the other. You should not promise to deliver a state to a particular party if you provide the election services, period. That takes away respectability from the whole project and makes people think "why should I bother voting, these corrupt bastards are just going to rig the election so that their buddies win". I suppose the whole concept of conflicts of interest has gone out the window. Case in point Cheney and Scalia's duck hunting trip.
