nor would i consider them stunningly pretty. I don't know about you, but I find I just can't administer a network without some real stunningly pretty pictures of my topology. Or at least a thinkgeek internet poster.
and some of us like to use our imagination. not leave it to the game developer's art department.
I still love q3 and rtcw, but I still love to fire up Supernova and Zork! It's all about personal preference... don't just assume text games are all worse-off than their graphical counterparts.
Sure, 3D effect-laden graphics that need the Ti4600 to run are certainly far more popular, but don't generalize so much
PS on OSX is certainly a major reason, but there a few "critical" apps left to go. The ones I actually need before I can make the leap:
Dreamweaver UltraDev Flash Director
God I hate those things. Well, the older ones...

my brother used to bring a sampling home with him after a few weeks of training or what not while in the army. A little sampling of what he had to sustain himself on when in the field for weeks @ a time. Good stuff.
There's still one that sticks out in my memory, Chicken and Rice. Man, that chicken and rice was tasty. Basically came in a nice vacuum sealed heavy-duty plastic baggie. You cut off a corner and squeezed it like toothpaste to eat. (Or, if you had a mini-set of folding pans, you could heat it up in a little aluminum cup and chow down)
But the dehydrated fruit, a little 2.5x2.5x.25 inch square of styrofoam looking fruit was n-a-s-t-y. So was the grape drink mix that came with some of the MRE's..The orange powder however, mmm, now that was nice, almost like Tang.
Since this is a highly subjective matter, I won't disagree with your comment, I will simply interject my own, which happens to have a different point of view.
On my dual processor machine, running windows, I noticed a *significant* increase in performance when I added the second processor (after, that is, I told Windows that my machine was a dual processor system, it doesn't auto-detect that after it's been installed. You'll have to set it manually if you had WinNT, 2K or XP Pro installed before you added the 2nd proc) When running multiple programs, like Photoshop, DreamWeaver, ftp software, Director and Flash (at the same time) I can now comfortably allow one program to do whatever it needs to do on one processor, while the other remains available to the OS to assign threads to in the meantime.
Simply stating that 2 processors is of no great benefit with out some quantifying data is a little weak, IMO
and yet you didn't predict how Mono, since it's modeled after a Microsoft initiative, will spread, and infect hundreds--no, _thousands_ of other Gnomes just by coming in close contact with them.
If they were calling it GenForce, I could see a serious issue. Triforce? Probably not. But then again, this is the age of the DMCA and the IP Madness. I can see the celebrity deathmatch now: nVidia Lawyers vs. Sega lawyers...
But it's so much more fun to imagine little glowing green radioactive flies hovering about and nipping innocent people, transforming them into kickass superheroes.
More likely still would be Microsoft sending cease and desist letters to the ISP's of those people running illegal copies of XP. Obviously, tracking down each individual user might not be the best route, so, this would probably only occur under the conditions that a large number of IPs in a certain block are transmitting information from said copies.
Fro the past 2 years I've had the opportunity to work for a "technical" manager. My boss can code right next to me in the office and hold his on with all the projects we work on. (Even though his office has a window) The real plus is he also knows how to handle both his technical and non-technical subordinates as a real manager should. He makes all the interactions between other groups in my company, and does it without sharpening his teeth on anyone's spine. So, any techie other there who feels smothered by their incompetent boss... make a run for the position yourself if you feel up to it.
In related news, Sony Inc. announced the release of TokenSlot(tm) technology apparently in response to Microsoft's release of the QuarterSlot(tm) controller add-on.
Makers of the modchip for Sony Playstations have declared that they will be creating slugs (coin sized metal weights of no real value) to defeat both lockout mechanisms.
I concur about the walking... but try having to change tapes between 9 different buildings on a campus that's 4+ miles in circumference campus at 2 o'clock in the morning when it's 5 degrees farenheit and the company refuses to buy jukeboxes.
Handy I would think. Better than spending 10 grand on the little electric golf carts. IMHO. I see more purpose in businesses for these rather than personal use.
Now if we can get them all working together with an xserver, say XFree... and have the whole gui/graphics driver thing settled once and for all...
And then we get them to work with the Kernel developers, and after that the other peripheral developers... and then we can shrink wrap the whole thing and sell it, lets say, for $99 bucks.
Apparently, that's also how he strong-armed such great ratings for Hercules. (pun intended *ducks*)
Note the following from SS:
One large difference between the changes for the two shows is that all of Andromeda's main characters seem to be staying on board. In fact, it seems that main star Kevin Sorbo will be very influential in the creative tone of the series from now on. Sorbo has always said he had a major hand in the creative success of his former series Hercules, and hopefully that experience will enable him to let Andromeda continue to be a successful show as well.
Well, you can keep your grainy interneg copies and your scratchy lps...
...as for me, I'll take a full on digital audio and video assault with open arms. Provided just watching a film doesn't violate the DMCA:)

It's called trial-by-fire.
Once the flames die down, and the dust settles, he'll probably not do that again.
and you can microwave your tv dinners by placing them perpendicular to the horizontal plane of your processor!
...and your next door neighbor is complaining about the brownout when you startup RtCW.

Right. Because Hilary is a replicant. She needs to find her creator soon too, she's only got a couple years in the Senate.

Really. Someone's going to make a USB passthru that mangles the USB ID on the way out.
I think you've done it.
You finally found something where Taco's signature applies.
Pants are optional, but recommended for you
You don't have to, simply send me $50 via PayPal and drop-ship your workstation to me and I'll secure it for you.

doh!
You are mostly correct. Except, Sorbo himself also wanted more guns and fight scenes.

then, of course, Microsoft's security would be comparable to Samuel L. Jackson in the movie.
