People seem to forget that Manning is not covered by the US Justice System, he is covered under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and that he is VOLUNTEERED to be under this code justice. The UCMJ is nowhere near as cuddly as the US civilian courts.
I liked the salvage patch. I would build out a medium mech with 2 inferno launchers, a flamer, 2 or 3 medium pulse lasers and a small laser. Group fire on something and I could over heat any mech in the game, then come in close and fire the small laser directly into the cockpit to take out the mech with minimum damage as it was in shutdown.
I use nvidia twinview on the monitors with Gnome. I also have 3 virtual desktops that I access via edge flipping on the vertical axis. I find this workas alot better than arranging the flipping on the sides with 2 large monitors.
Evil spell checker and me working on other things when I typed the original comment. Mea Culpa and such... although... it would an interesting character on Discworld would it not?
Apples and oranges on that one. Actually, for the most part the "Smoking is Bad" PSA's have said that Smoking increases the RISKS that you will die of cancer, which is quite different from the AGW announcements that AGW WILL destory our civilization/world/porn industry. I guess that the absolute certainty that some have on this issue is what gives me the heebee jeebees.
Actually, I would say skeptics of anthropomorphic global warming. There are nut jobs on both sides of the issue. However, as you describe it, I would be a "climate change denialist" who is an atheist, sees that science, and more importantly the scientific METHOD as mankind's only real hope for long term survival. I guess I do not fit the deluded masses of christian fundies. I take issue with the anthropomorphic global warming crowd for the following reasons.
Unwillingness to provide source data and methods used in their papers. (This is science, if you cannot replicate it, it never happened) Continuing to both cite and regurgitate papers and findings that have been proven incorrect. (This is the Big Lie strategy, keep saying the lie often enough and loud enough, and everyone thinks it must be true)
and, IMO for the SCAREMONGERING that goes on in the press conferences. Its not part of their science, but at in my 30 years on this planet, I have been told that we are all gonna die real soon now many times, its getting to be as bad the fundies talking about the End Of The World.
It can kinda be done. IVR's can be very effective in getting a persons name, account info etc. But right now, they SUCK for natural language uses AND they HELLA expensive for a good one. Usually they are a completlely seperate system tied to the phone system and integrated with custom code into internal systems, this is not cheap or easy, so expect to pay a premium for it at this time.
Its really easy if your phone system supports SMDR. Get it set up for you, setup a call accounting software package and start logging the calls. You can do some extras like assigning an ACD pilot number for the help desk, and putting all your agents in an ACD queue to balance the call load. BUt just having the call accounting their so you can on the 12th, I was called by these extensions, xxx, xxx, xxx, xxx etc for a combined total of XXX.X minutes for support, which you can cross referrence with your helpdesk ticketing software for even more info.
My god, someone I agree with! But, really, I think the problem with Kyoto is that it reduces the efficiency of energy production, requiring more facilities to be built to make up the difference for a marginal at best change in emissions. And remains totally blind to the idea of moving energy production, mining and manufacturing where it belongs, LEO or Lagrange points where energy is cheap, and pollution is not a problem.
Agreed. I see a lot of people who proclaim themselves as email gurus on the net. These are the people who manage a few small domains, and don't realize what happens when scale a mail server up, or are answerable to paying clients. I reject ~350,000 messages a day on a mere 2200 email accounts. I can how it would get geometrically worse as you scale up from there.
Finally virtually every arable square inch of the planet is under cultivation for one thing or another.
Umm, wrong-o there good buddy. land used for agricultural purposes in US has been falling for years as we can grow more with less land. Many former fields have returned to forest, causing the US to be more heavily forested now than in the last century or so.
I have seen many posts so far from people who have never had sat inet. And they are getting it all wrong. I have wildblue service, and I support several direcway installs. Gaming on sat inet is all about the specific game.
FPS's / Twitch Games == Not gonna happen RPG / RTS / MMORPG == Should have no problems
For the people who say VPN's are unusable on sat inet, I beg to differ, as I use mine all the time to run remote X from my office, and its an ipsec vpn not an SSL vpn which in theory would work better.
The easiest way to understand sat inet is to understand the latency, any chatty protocols will suck. Put in your caching DNS server and Squid proxy w/ pre-fetch and adzapper and you will be pleasantly surprised at the increased performance. You want to minimize the packet trips to/from the sats.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA Thats great! I love how you completely miss the idea of thermal transfer, and the DECADES of work making equipment function with hundreds of degrees difference between tempatures in light and in shade.
I mean, I was thinking that maybe the/. editors actually read/. but have had my faith restored in thier ability to dupe a story withen days of its orginial posting. If we are lucky, it might get posted again next week!
I'd say for your console ripping and encoding, go with mp3c, http://mp3c.wspse.de, if you can handle pressing F3 to rip and encode, your golden

Get 2 of these. EnGenius EOC-3220EXT
Approx 140 a piece. Outdoor rated, comes with POE injector, and mount kits. Runs a 400mw with an external 5 db omni.
Will work like a charm.
