    Cost of entry into the market is kind of high, If the local government is not creating an outright monopoly, then you still have to lay wire/fiber/wifi out to the customer's door.

    It's like they talked about on that movie, on COPS (tv show) they'll have 3 cops chasing a guy down the street and beat him to the ground because he just stole $85. But some corporate criminal that steals $85,000,000.00 and well they treat him with kid gloves.

    I am guessing the cops did not have to chase the $85,000,000.00 criminal down the street. And when that criminal is arrested he goes quietly.

    The Bill of Rights only affects the government, not citizens like doctors. So no the Doctor is not taking away your first amendment rights.

    Try Crossing out that portion of the paper, or just don't sign it. And perhaps try getting another doctor.

    Could TomTom have a non fat file system and retain the "see it from the OS" if there were a windows driver for the file system they used? Can one install foreign file systems in windows?

    Could one for instance install a drive for ext3 in windows? Or ReiserFS (to Kill the suit.)

    If it were minute by minute throttling. for a given price the ISP and I decide on a number of Kb per minute. I get and send bytes in each minute until the limit is met, then my connection stops but only until the beginning of the next minute. At any time I can go to my ISP's Website and change my setting - paying more so I get a larger number of Kb per minute. Plans should start at $9.00 a month with a number of Kb equivalent to a fast dialup connection.

    CA is getting a load of new taxes too.

    Start up a bunch of give away programs when the state has income. When the state looses income don't stop the give away program, no, tax everyone to the tune of a new 14.4 BILLION and think of new ways to give it away.

    Easy..

    1) if it is not a parking ticket - Ignore it. I don't do business with that sort of business.

    2) if it is a parking ticket. Don't go to the site, go to the most logical traffic court - take a day off from work. If it's real you can pay your fine or whatever. If it's not - hey at least you get a day off from work.

    I never answer if I don't regcognise the number.

    On my cell phone if they are not in my phone's dial list (so the name shows when they ring). No answer.

    In a windows machine, you can be setup as only a limited user. You might be able to download the installer, but if you try to run it you will get asked for the supervisor password.

    No password, no install (not everyone is the administrator, especially at school or at work)

    But even on a locked down machine you might still be able to use a thumb drive with something like U3 software and get firefox that way.

    I have an unlisted number.. I still get the calls 2-3 a day, usually the guy who want to sell me a car warranty (my car's warranty has been finished for at least two years now)

    They use random dialers..

    You have to identify the caller, Inform them that your number is on the do not call list.

    Usually the first whiff they get that you are going to do that they hang up.. ask for their supervisor, they hang up. Say "I am on" click - gone

    Or they take your info and promise to put you on their do not call list, in like 6 months.
    and then they call back...

    If you do manage to ask the name of their company its usually the name of the company that bought advertising.

    Caller ID says: "no number, no name." I don't answer any call I don't recognize the caller ID.

    Not to mention, If you had a pie chart of the current budget, NASA's slice would be so thin as to be invisible, just a line.

    We spend more in one day for Welfare than NASA spends in a year. (probably slightly exaggerated)
