I was watching CSPAN this morning during the live spacewalk, and the NASA commentator said these fillers are to help quiet the 'chattering' of the tiles during liftoff and have nothing to do with the actual heat protection.
This just means that India will outsource to even cheaper labor markets. They are already sending work to China. I don't think we'll see jobs 'onshoring' very soon.
In a nutshell they turned an iPod into an external hard drive. Then the Macs will treat it as such and boot to it. Basically they turned a $200+ device* into a $29 USB key.
You whipper snappers with yer new fangeled 3-D games. Try a game that repeats itself exactly the same way (with very little variation) like old school coin-ops. I remember sitting in the back of class working on my PacMan moves. For me, it was the audio of those games. Who could forget the PacMan 'death', the Galaga 'yellow ship tractor beam', the sound of the Defender ship blowing things up, or the relentlessness of Space Invaders.
Maybe think a little smaller. Instead of full video conferencing, perhaps use text and audio, sort of like the old "You don't know Jack" site. Use an IM client as the method of 'buzzing in', post the questions on the screens as you read it, then allow the user to speak a reply. As a fallback, make sure people at each location have the questions and answers in case there's tech problems, and to verify the answers in case 'shenanagans' are called. If you have the spare bandwidth, then maybe you can snap a picture every 5 seconds and post it. Best not to overthink it, save those braincells for the questions, and the beer!
If you look at the yahoo link and show the past 1 year of trading you should see that the stock has split, TWICE! The first one was last Jan, a 5 for 1 split, and the second was May, a 4 for 1 split. And the stock has never gone over $2.50. So, even though the price is low, someone (hmmm, wonder who?) is sitting on 20x the stock they had last year. My guess is that after the next 'big announcement' about the product, someone will resign, then take the money and run.
After reading her comments it basically boiled down to her having no control/involvement in the production. She trusted the producers, which even I know you don't do. Unfortunately she dug her own hole on this one. Her agent should have asked for more control in the process.
The answer is to outsource our math tests to an offshore company. There we can not only raise the averages, but do it at a fraction of the cost (which they will be able to calculate for us). -- "Me fail English? That's unpossible." - Ralph Wiggum
With the cost of IDE hard drives dropping, you could get 4 300 Gig IDE (or SATA) hard drives, and put them in an external case. I think you could shave a $1000 off that price. Even better would be if it was a network storage device.
This looks like a nice addition and all, but for the seemingly few of us that don't have Gmail (it's still not available for general signup), do we have any idea of when Google will finally open this up?
Honestly, what else have they got? Besides Enterprise, they've cancelled everything else that gave them ratings. At least this is a built in fan base. Oh, and as for the Friday timeslot, that's when Farscape was on, right? I'm sure UPN will replay it on Sundays before primetime.
Damn, that's funny. Think of all of the possibilities!
How about a video of...
an empty coffin?
dialing a phone (complete with fake ringer on tombstone).
someone else.

Come on, you know you wanted to post that...
Just think, we gave you over a year's worth of experience in about 24 hours. We're not malicious, we're efficient!

Your 'pranks' would be much more effective if there was an actual article to link to.

For example, I naturally started to use Borgish management methods, and this wasn't received well by people, to say the least.

I guess it's good news for at least one company.

OK Mr. Gates^H^H^H^H^H 'er "Dave", we'll boycott a Linux site. I'm sure that's exactly what Microsoft won't expect!
