We believe that most if not all Linux users have sustained a significant amount of damage due to the lawsuits pertaining the rights of Linux and is subsidiaries, due to this fact we are processing a counter law suite against the SCO company to prevent any further actions until such if any actions are persuade by the upper courts, if no action is taken or SCO is found not to present the court with enough evidence to pursue any lawsuit against over 50% of the user group of Linux then all actions by the SCO group are deemed illegal and will be subject to a criminal lawsuit if not a political lawsuit and will deem that the SCO group will provide all legal council fees and will provide at least 100% of the damages inured by all parties up to at least 721 day since the lawsuit has been sealed by all courts in addition Defamation of character of all Linux and sub Linux users due to the fact that SOC believes that all Linux users have infringed on copyright infringements will take place if defamation of character has accrued then the SOC group will owe damaged deemed by the court to any party which placed claims. No court settlement should be sealed for less then 1/4 the original claim by the SCO group, this is for or against their claim, and should be followed by all legal lawsuits pertaining to any claim for or against the SCO group up until the year 2500.
i think cell phones already broke that barrier long long ago, most college kids now have a cell phone rather then getting a phone for their dorm or house/apartment. And i also know that alot of other people are doing this aswell for home and buisness.
PLEASE CANCEL YOUR PRE-ORDERS OF HL-2 PLEASE PLEASE CANCEL THEM
I just cancelled mine tonight, its really the only way to show Valve were not happy as gamers, Put your money towards a game whos developers and publishers are responcible about their release times.
Ok i live in upstate NY and two of the most recent events that would be needed for the emergency brodcast system (9/11, and the Black out this past summer) didn't use it !
Not once was it used durring either event ! so basicaly they should have no say, its an outdated system that is never used anymore.
Furthermore if there is such an emergency they could trip the broadband so it turns off so it won't disrupt their signal...
In anycase horid decision making done by idiotitic buerocrats, to even make a statement like they are.
If this was a valid argument the FCC would be involved.
Just a thought but maybe Valve knew about the leak and then pushed back the release date to fix code which could have been comprimised !
So lets just say thanks to whom ever leaked the code and we can all blame them for the delay of the release date !
I hope they also know that NDA's are a big part of the game industry today so that either means your loosing your job, your company, or you getting sued.
Each file contains a date, what was modified and when for the most part depending on what code managemnt tool they use... so valve can probaly go though see who checked out the whole build... or just certain parts and figure out who leaked it. (most managemnet tools use 128 bit encryption and a key) Its very easy to track these things.

it looks like intel is the only one left playing the GHz game, both AMD and Apple/IBM are getting better performance at lower clock rates !
This is very interesting seeing that intel always says you need a higher clock rater for better performance, nice to see that every one is proving them wrong !
Well I hate going back and forth about this but since it seems like a few of you don't think I know what im talking about here we go.
Ok about how big the community is
"How many Xbox Live subscribers does it take to change a lightbulb? We don't know, but there are 350,000 of you to choose from!"
A direct quote from www.xbox.com/live/
Its not the largest but its big and growing
Now about servers, basiacly yes you can get a server for 100 bucks with unlimited bandwith blah blah blah.
But to run a service that could hold all of your subscibers (350,000 people) at one time, supporting multiple games, content download, voice communication, updates and constant game searches. You don't go out and get a 100 dollar a month server for this. Were talking multiple servers, service costs, upgrades, support, plus what ever else they have going into it. And all of the code that your writing for the service that is included in the xbox dev kit so companies can drop in a few lines of code and be on your service.
You have never had anything to do with running servers, that's for sure.
Sorry i didn't post my resume for you, think you may be shocked.
First off if either of these companies need incentives from Microsoft to make a game LIVE, then they have some serious problems !
As Publishers/Developers they have no upkeep costs on running any of the LIVE services, servers, or systems, how can they be complaining. Companies like Blizzard spend thousands if not millions to keep thier on-line services up and running, and all of these companies are getting the service for FREE while selling more copies becuse its LIVE enabled. For me thats an incentive enough, these companies are making a big mistake.
I saw an earlyer post that said something like "XBox LIVE = XBox Living Dead" don't really know what that means but i think XBox Live is one of the largest Gaming communities out there now, and the most advanced. Sony's way of dealing with their online play has been crappy and disapointing to say the least. So if that comment is stating that XBox live is a dead/dieing community i think your wrong, EA and Edios are going to see product sales plumit and companies like SEGA and Microsofts Sporting sales are going to sky rocket, just because of this one move.
my 2 cents but hey i think i have a damn good point !
walk bike skate or scoot, which would you rather choose at 1/100th of the price of one of those stupid things.
yeah its a cool idea, and has very advanced technology in it but its just not praticle. maybe if the price went down to 200 or 100 dollars then it would be a hot seller.
Its crap that they hold information back but heres what i think about any one who got wacked with it.
Some people and companies practice poor computer use... If your car has a recall you sure as hell don't sit around and say ah ill get it fixed tomorrow, cause your ass could end up on the side of the road in itty bitty pieces. People should think they same way about computers, mantain, update, and keep it clean you will never have a problem, and get security patches !
I haven't had a problem with any of my computers with viri, worms, and other things, just because i keep them updated !
It also helps to not be an idiot with your e-mail !
I have been asked to come back and help out old employers many times, but there is always an upfront payment or agreement.
Hell even when i go home to help my father out there is a non verbal agreement there, i get dinner, some cash for helping him out, or just my travel expenses and damn thats family.
Basicaly if you get asked to come in again, say there is a consulting fee per day you work, plus pay by the hour. Even if you don't have a job as you were saying, make it worth your wile and get a paycheck. Maybe if you get calls like this all the time, you should start up your own biz.
Open Source for OS X 's BSD under belly isn't as hard to get your hands on as some of you may belive. There are tons of links around the OS X pages at Apple's site leading you toward thier developers section. They also have Open Source projects page... one of them being Darwin... the BSD system which OS X runs on.
You can find that here http://www.publicsource.apple.com/projects/
Give me a break, maybe they arn't updating the code every day but most of the recent bug fixes and OS X updates have been in the OS X shell not the sub system which it runs on. Stop complaining and go grab the OPEN Darwin Source and sign up to be a Developer which is free !

With that type of success i would have thought that this was John Romero's project not John Carmack's.
