I think that Apples extra cash should go into getting video game companies to develop for the Mac. I'm a proud owner of a Ti-Book and love it.
However, like many other mac users, I still have to have that Windows box sitting around to play my video games. I think if more video games came out for the mac at the same time as for Windows, more people would switch over.
I think that this is a stupid ruling. If you look at the google cache, you can clearly see that it's stated both at the TOP and BOttom of the page that this site is NOT affiliated with Jerry Falwell.
Also, anyone looking for Jerry's site would clearly be able to tell the difference.
There's already a company doing this in rural Iowa towns. I can't seem to find the website right off hand, but they basically run a link out to some farmers silo and then put a wireless link on top of the silo so that people from miles around have wireless internet.
Infact, the entire city of Ames, Iowa is covered with wireless access through this type of setup.
The real question is will Kevin dump Sarah for me!
He's such a hottie!

I was in NJ a couple weeks ago, in the Edison train terminal and EVERY machine was down due to some windows error. Ended up having to drive back to Metuchen where all but one of the machines was down.
So obviously there are problems with Windows machines.
I don't know where you're getting your 35mm disposable cameras at, but around here they are usually about $7.00 each, then you add on the $7 for processing, and you're spending more money...
Hey hey, stop ripping on DM so badly. It's really a pretty good place to hang out...
And a few places you may want to check out while here is Java Joe's on 4th street just off Court, and the Spaghetti Works ((515) 243-2195, 310 Court Ave)
Court Ave is a great place to hang out basically.
We've used linux for years at my old HS. When I took over the IS we had one Linux box running our mail server, it was Caldera 1.something. I took over, convereted a few other things to linux, upgraded the mail server and got a couple programming boxes up. My senior year we installed linux (yellowdog) on all the Apple G4's in the lab.
Today they have a cluster of linux boxes running redhat 7.3 for programming, and a nice poweredge server for mail. The only Windows box left in the school is the main file server and they are working on plans for an xserve to replace that this summer.
You've never used Sax2 either. IT allows easy changing of the screen resolution on SuSe.
Only problem that I have with Suse is they don't install all the needed dev utils for when I want to compile things myself. Such as MythTv, or Mplayer.
I've been using the WET11 for a couple weeks now and it's working much better. I recently moved into an apartment that has wireless ISP. I contacted Linksys before this product came out and they told me to purchase thier BEFW11S4. But oncei received it it didn't work. I called them back and they said that "No, that won't work for what you need." And even though I purchased it from them, they won't give me my money back..
But anyways, this product is working GREAT for me. I like linksys in general. But good luck getting ahold of a live person when you call!
I know that in Government work, we usually go with the a pretty much RANDOM person when we choose contracts. They don't like the highest person, becuase they are usually WAY out of our price range, unless it's near the end of a fiscal year then we tend to spend more money on each project..
They also REFUSE to use open-source because they don't trust it. For example they would rather pay $1500 for Stronghold then to let us spend some extra time just securing Apache. Or they would rather spend $8000 a year on Sybase contracts then to pay MySQL for support when they need it..
Whatever they want to do. But it just goes to show that Government really does WASTE a tone of money!
But back to topic, what is up with all the wierd shit. You'd think they would save money using standard parts rather then having to make all thier own parts... I was amazed when we opened up a box to find that the mother board in them all are the same, and they just add an extra card to the bottom of it for additional PCI slots.
Here where I work we have about 30 Dell desktops and 5 Dell Poweredge servers...
We hadn't been having any troubles with them, until we went to install a new tape drive in one of them. The SCSI adaptor on the motherboard was faulty and killed the motherboard and the tape drive... They sent out 3 tape drives and 2 new motherboards before it was all fixed and ready to go...Three months after it died. Same thing happened when we put a tape drive in the second poweredge... That time they had someone out next day with a new tape drive and motherboard.
After those two problems we've had nothing but trouble.. They've been out and replaced the motherboard on 4 other Desktops, and the hard drive in EVERYONE of them but one (mine, because I put a new 120gig in when we got the thing).
Every time we call it's a different situation, they either say "Alright you know what you're talking about, well have someone out there tomorrow" or they make me wait on hold for hours while I do stupid "repairs" that'll fix it.
They've made C# a req for ISU MIS majors as well now.. This is the first year for it.
I'm really not looking forward to it, but the people I've talked to say that it's worth it... But these are the same people that think COBOL's still alive and kicking.
I've been using my High School e-mail adrress as my primary address for over ten years now. When ever I sign up for some new service, they get that e-mail, when ever I don't want a service to get my real e-mail, they get that one. But yet. After 10 years of signing up for tons of things, from MTV.com to AIM to Who knows what else. I still don't recieve that much spam. I've always been careful to watch for those little boxes that say, "Don't give my info out to other people" and it seems most companies follow that. In 2000, I recieved only 3046 spam messages, and they were all from places that I agreed I had wanted thier mailing, so that's not really spam then.
Ya know i don't really see what the big problem is with verisign and the.com address. I do see why they shouldn't have the.org etc. but they are a.com company, why can't they keep the.com address? With the recent aimster everyones complaining about copyright stuff, but verisigns.com is thier name, right? so if they pay, like everyone else, then what's the big problem? Am i missing a big chunkc of the story?
I always wondered how the "Made With Mac" images on all my pages got switched to "Powered With Win NT" images shortly after I moved from a Linux Box to an NT box.
Yocto Bytes -- SSID :) Just fun sounding names. And big ass numbers. :)
Yotta Bytes -- iPod
Pebi Bytes -- G5
Zetta Bytes -- Powerbook
The site must not be running on one of the crays. It's already slashdotted!
Actually he played on a whole season of Gilmore Girls. And he's quite the fine actor.
I think he's well qualified for this role.

What bank is that? I'm surprised larger banks like Wells Fargo, Chase or Principal don't offer such things.

That doesn't make any sense!

AiS was created just for this. To get more females into Computer Science, Math, etc.
Too bad the DOE cut funding for it.
Here's the website:
AiS
I use Redhat for my main Desktops and the only reason I keep windows around is for that odd website that only supports Windows.
However, I was in my C#.NET class the other day and the instructor said...
"Microsoft makes Mac, they make the OS, they make the software that runs on it."
Anyone know what she was talking about? Do they really have any part in how the OS is built?
Hehe. I love living on campus... ISO's in Minutes!
