For some (maybe even most) servers the admin isnt available 24/7. Some issues like memory leaks or other bugs cant be solved by the admin in a short period of time.
In an attempt to have the services available for as often as possible an automated restart can be helpfull. Ofcourse the cause of the event should be found and resolved.
Sony will release the PS3 below $500 and nobody will buy an $300 dollar external HD-Drive for the 360. Within a year more then 1million consumers will have a PS3 and therefor will generate demand for blu-ray movies.
Blu-ray will win this war unless the hd camp has some trick. Microsoft released the 360 too early (not even enough production).
Altough the fight between game consoles will continue blu-ray will win the disk war.

The key point in network security is diversity and multiple layers of security. When there is a fault (due to whatever cause) in one of the layers only that layer will be comprimised but no real severe damage done.
Ofcourse it is important that those layers are created and maintained by several entity's.
A simple example: - Have your network guys maintain your firewalls - Have all traffic go through a application gateway which is maintained by a third party. - Have system administrators to secure the system
Ofcourse adding layers increases costs and security.
First: Some admins can read the patch. Some admins will analyse the patch.
After there can be a discussion; Why is there a change to qos when the patch should fix an igmp issue? Is this because the two are related are is this patching another issue in the same time? Could this qos change have side-effects, should I include qos in my testing?
When you get a binary patch you should run all you tests, which will probably take way too long. Instead of just testing the relevant parts.
This sounds like normal windows operations:
- an exploit (bug) is discoverd
- the virus is released
- a patch is relesead by microsoft
- the administrators dont trust the patch (cant see what it exactly does) so need to test
- in the mean time the virus is spreading
- there should be a profit line here, but I gues microsoft already made a profit before all of this started.
If think they should make a system where the user can decide for it self what the volume should be by using a "-" and "+" button. Hereby giving the user full control of the volume level.
Should this be patented that would be true inovation!
I dont really see the benefit of this service. My.forward contains my gmail account and in gmail you can use different senders. This basicly is the same but keeps me in much creater control.

I guess a virus of 2MB will be less succesfull then one of 100KB.
Ofcourse the cure is much worse then the disease thats where my titel is refering to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_solution
Altough this raises several other issues, this is THE SOLUTION to spam.
All americans I know have escaped to The Netherlands and they believe that the US should be free.
And here there still not in "The land of the Free" but atleast they can smoke a joint without getting thrown in jail.
And all of this in "The land of the Free". Makes you wonder.
"$121 billion market cap and they have someone writing error messages who thinks "anyways" is acceptable English."
Most non-native english speakers find this acceptable or just dont care.

gloogle.eu ofcourse
My last name is gone, my first name is gone.
;-)
But I have got gloogle.com
As long as they follow the GPL rules (which they legaly must) I dont see the problem.
Just wait until someone tries to change the patent system. I bet all patent systems are patented already.
And I guess this was your attempt for a first post? Are you waited in purpose hoping someone would think you are smart?
I guess you are secrelty working on you open source compiler wich will beat the h*ll out of gcc.
Thats great man, I was waiting for free compiler choice.
When will it be finished?
I think Pear is much better.
I've got a random number generator in my wallet.
Just flip a coin.
This article and research is utterly useless and therefor logicaly patented.

And then in 20 years we will discover that this 'adjusted' meat will cause cancer or 'mad-human disease'
Could give some more info about the 'smith-waterman alignment' implementation in fpga? Papers, code, etc..?
