Exactly... this guy isn't motivated to "fix" anything. It seems like he likes his situation, be it for the social security handouts or the pity aspect.
If I was that sick, I'd be out in the middle of the desert building my own shelter out of wood and rock.
This is how it works. Everybody supports banning a few things (murder, theft, etc). This is good.
Then a few people start getting wacky. We ban a few more things - hemp, alcohol.
Then guns, model rocket engines, blank CD media.
We either all stick together and fight all victimless "crimes" and prohibition, or we all lose by the precidents we establish against things we don't like.
Luckily not all of them... at Georgia Tech, we had it heavy on database theory and light on OOP. I ended up designing the same way you do, without ever conciously thinking about it.:)
If we keep electing these idiots, this kind of garbage will keep happening. I don't condone pirating, but the possession or sale of a mod chip defined as a crime independently of its use is a dangerous precident to set!
Who's next? People who own guns? People who own both beer AND a car?
I have about a dozen Pentium II computers with 1GB of RAM. I would like to upgrade them to 2GB and throw in some gigabit NICs and create a 1.9GB RAMdisk on each one
Are you on a limited budget, or are you going to spend a couple grand to upgrade all these ancient machines?
Did you ever consider just taking the money and buying one really fast machine?:)
Strange. I've made orders as small as single LVD SCSI boards, and as large as 2 E6500s and 4 E4500s, loaded out, and never had any problems with Sun reps.
The main issue I had was with the occasional SE that was just a f***ing moron and tried to push an obviously incorrect over massively overpriced solution.
Yeah, nothing says democracy like being forced to join a union.
I just bought two Dell 1800fp (18.1") LCDs for $383 each. You just have to watch for sales and coupons.
...
And I have to say, I'll NEVER go back to CRTs! Deskspace, brightness, no flicker, far less heat, no radiation, lower power bills
In a free country, you're free to employ whoever you want to - this shouldn't be illegal.
:)
However, I'm just as free to stop using Sun equipment. Which I am.
Which countries was this not popular in?
Under Clinton/democrats absolutely everything had to be passed or funded "for the children" ...
...
Now under Bush/republicans, absolutely everything has to be passed or funded "to fight terrorism"
same party goals, different propoganda.
And yet the people fall for it - every time.
Read paragraphs 12-15 again. All he does is bitch about SSI and how much of a pain it is, and how it doesn't provide enough money for him.
You failed to respond to my suggestion that he find an outdoor vocation, so I can we can conclude you're a typical american socialist.
Exactly
If I was that sick, I'd be out in the middle of the desert building my own shelter out of wood and rock.
Is anyone else annoyed by this whiner? I'm sorry he has issues, but many people do.
However, this guy mooches off the state and does nothing but bitch and moan about how he doesn't get enough money out of my pocket.
He seems very annoyed that he can't live well off of our money, and is shocked that he'd have to try and find a job.
Maybe I'm callous, but he sure seems ingrateful.
Admittedly, I scanned through the article pretty quickly, but - why can't he find an outdoor job??
If every environment makes him sick, he might as well be sick and working rather than sick and sitting on his butt at home living off of me.

I guess now you model rocketry guys know how it feels to be a gun owner.

Download IDEA. You'll love it and never use Jedit again.
Uhh.. guys? You've been able to use IDEA for eons, you just go to intellij.net and download an EAP for OS X.
So those $700 hammers were super light weight titanium? :)
Slashdot has certainly perfected the redundancy part ...
Who's turn is it to post about the megahertz myth? :)
I can't even fathom how many dupes there are if we're currently seeing those that have been "dupe checked."
Luckily not all of them... at Georgia Tech, we had it heavy on database theory and light on OOP. I ended up designing the same way you do, without ever conciously thinking about it. :)
I missed the part where the authors said this was the solution to all the world's data storage needs...
How many of you voted democrat or republican?
How many of you voted third party?

It wasn't a wise man - it was George W. Bush speaking to Saddam. :)

Except for the part where he lumps Java in with C++. Has he used both of them? :)
Put the crack pipe down... the pictures are correct. :)
(and I first saw it hours before you posted this, so... )
