    Tell your theory to all of the Mexicans illegally crossing the border to the US every day. They're just trying to get to where the better paying jobs are, no?

    In reality, there are laws and limitations to moving and working internationally.

    We don't have the highest average hourly wage (I believe that belongs to Germany, last I checked anyway.)
    If we make the most yearly it's probably because we work more hours than any other country.

    So the 'highest paid' thing is debatable.

    Additionally, the Colorado burger flipper has a higher cost of living than the Mexican college grad.

    If I'm not mistaken though, large generators of electricity (like coal power plants) will pollute less than using a gasoline engine to generate power.

    If there was a way to instantly replace every gasoline-powered car on the road with an equivalent electric model, we would need more coal-generated electricity, but there would be less air pollution, due to getting all of those gasoline-burners off the road.

    additionall, livestock eats more grain than humans do.

    remembering the details about the code you wrote helps a lot when a co-worker asks you questions about why the hell you wrote that crappy, inefficient code.

    Unfortunately, if you get fired, you wont be there to answer their questions, so fat lot of good your memorization of your code will do you.

    IANAPhysicist, but if you used gravity (at point A) to accelerate an object (Point B), the object would continue to increase in mass, and therefore its gravity would increase. Eventually the gravity of Point B would exceed that of Point A, and then something wacky would probably happen, but i'm not sure what. Maybe someone who already had their morning coffee would know :]

    I just dont think it could work, but its an interesting idea.

    there are lots of cases which would show that there are physical causes of behavior... Your example of rabies is one.
    Also- brain surgery (lobotomy, anyone?), drugs/alcohol/medications, etc.

    Personally I dont think we have souls.. I dont even think we have free will. But that's just my opinion.

    Yeah, French law isnt applicable in the US. US law isnt applicable in France.

    Now France could still stand by their original ruling and say that the US ruling doesnt apply to them, and yahoo still needs to follow French law if they want to operate in France- which would mean removing all auctions from sites reachable by French citizens.

    Well, the French law only said they cant sell that stuff from French yahoo servers. It only applies to France.

    And since this is US law, it's only going to apply to the US.

    Neither country has any say in what the other's laws are.
