  2. Re:SIRIUS IS WAAAY BETTER on Associated Press Not Impressed By MyFi · · Score: 1

I looked and looked and I went with sirius because they carry way more sports NFL , NHL(when it comes back) college stuff etc etc .

Not to mention , the playlists .. lets face it the majority of musicians ..not all, have like maybe 10 good songs the others not so good . Deepest playlists for me is not a selling feature but yet XM uses that as their selling feature and I don't want to have to listen to crap while finally getting to a song. XM has MLB ...whoppee!! I am huge baseball fan but the last thing I would do , is listen to a game on the radio. Hockey , Football ...way different more action. Maybe XM will start broadcasting golf tournaments.

Anyway to each is own. XM Sirius choose what makes you happy, not based on playlists or user subscriptions.

I am not Pro MS or Pro Linux(Place your flavor) here. I use whatever gets the job done. Not sure about the numbers of folks that went to that site but I know in my surfing it has popped up tons . And I am sure for the non-techie people it probably "peaked" their interest to check it out and see what Lindows(Linux) is about . At that point the Linux community should be happy that they were able to at least get home users to look at their product (Linux as a whole). No matter the outcome of the whole website mess , I betcha it did more good for the Linux OS than it has done bad

I have no idea how carpool lanes work but how would a fella get caught .. So if I don't have a second person in the car is this done by camera , eagle eye citizens, or pulled over by cops??.

Now if you bid on one of these and you win, you place the sticker on your car ..and what ?? now all the camera's , citizens, cops will just forget about you .
Seems as though if I were to get pulled over for driving in the lane , this would slow my commute time ..

  12. Re:Working as a team on Cooperation in CS Education? · · Score: 1

Why should the professor keep tabs ..working in a group environment is supposed to teach the people (you and the others) how to interact and achieve a common goal. Sometimes they work out , soemtimes they don't but the point is to learn how to delegate , respond , and accomplish a goal. I have had group projects in the past where the goal (the final piece of code) was worth one mark..our marks came from documents all members had to provide..including your opinions of the other group members and they time spent working together/alone on the project. The instructor wanted to see meeting minutes, plans of action ..results , pitfalls etc etc ..the code at the end was merely something for us to do. The marks came from "team building"

  14. What I Would do on How Do You Interview A Sysadmin Candidate? · · Score: 1

Personally interviews should be gaged on finding out about the type of person they are not so much on how good they are. Sure you don't want some crack pot in there but IMHO you should never hire the dude that you have to lock in a room and slide pizza's under the door ...god I hate those kind. Don't hire the geek ...or if you do at least make him/her have some sort of social life.. Because from what I have seen ..these guys just eventually burn out.... I know lots of people that were too damn busy being bookworms all concerned about getting a 4.0 gpa cause they thought that if they get that , it would make up for the lack of personality and backbone. guess where they are now ..still stuck in the trenches miserable as ever..some have yet to find an I.S. job. The guy that said never have a test I agree...friggin waste of time.. The one thing I think would be cool ..is if you had your interview in a room that had a computer right next to the interviewee turned on with a noticable flaw .. to see if they person would have the backbone to say anything .... I like people with an opinion ..those that go through life with the I don't know style get boring real quick .. Hire someone that has some personality ...knowledge can be obatained ..
