wow.
WOW.
WOW!
That's all you were capable of getting out of it? Even in multiple viewings? That's it?
You shouldn't really be advertising that fact, unless possibly, you're looking for sympathy? I'm too busy to feel bad for you. I'm watching some boring crime drama where they play classical music and drink milk with drugs in it while kicking the snot out of old men.
"Yarbles! Great bolshy yarblockos to you!"
You know, the majority of people I know who claim to NOT be able to afford healthcare are self-employed and would rather spend the money on 3 HD tv's and 2 SUV's. Really hard to feel sorry for these folks. Most of the "poor" I know wouldn't be seen in anything less than designer labels and $100 sneakers. People in brand new SUV's paying for food with Access cards? But they can't afford healthcare? Well, since the housing and food is subsidized, I guess they might as well spend their money on cars, electronics and clothes, right?
Do people fall through the cracks? Yeah, we need to tighten that up. I just don't believe the way to do that is by needless spending on folks who could afford it if they cut back on their own wasteful spending. I don't believe in helping people who won't even try to help themselves.
Right-wing christian philosophy, my shiny metal ass! You toss that label out at people like any other well-practiced, bigotted moron does. I'm an agnostic, bordering on athiest. I'm just a fiscal conservative. I don't believe that throwing money at a problem is always the best solution. Censorship is a tool of both extremes, right and left. Stop trying to pin it on one or the other. Hell, the middle will do it if it suits their needs... it is an effective tool, right up there with ignorance! Don't look for facts in this post or try to counter this post with facts... It is an opinion. That's something we wouldn't be allowed to have in either a fascist or socialist state.
McDonalds is suing Burger King for bundling BK fries in their combo meals. Claim that in a free market world, consumers should have a choice of McD fries or even Wendy's fries and that bundling proprietary fries should be illegal.
Why not just alert us when it hits 10 million? Am I missing some significance to 9.3 million, other than the Earth-Sol distance? Are we just getting updates every.1 million? Should this number impress me especially? I much prefer to hear when they hit 9.475 million. Wake me up when they hit that.
I am pro-gun but also pro-life. I believe you should have a permit for the gun you shoot clinic employees with.
Seriously, I believe pro-life does not have to be anti-abortion and that pro-gun doesn't mean you have to rush out and buy a gun or that everyone should be allowed to own one. I mean really, who the hell thinks in black and white anymore?
My ideals are conservative, but I'm financially liberal; were these things weighted? My ideals are liberal, but I'm a fiscal conservative. By this study, you and I are polar opposites, one of us is stupid and the other is lazy. I guess we have nothing in common and are destined to be enemies. Sorry.
Chill out dudette/dude! There was no purposeful misinterpretation. I was merely, as I stated, confused. You could have been a little clearer to someone who does not have intimate knowledge of both systems. You speak of: "The HDDVD addon for the 360 is in a worse boat as that is it's ONLY function" in the original post. I assumed "function" referred to 'playing HDDVD format disks'. Now from your rather hostile and rather condescending explanation, I understand that you were actually speaking about: "The 360 out of the box supports...hrm....right, NO high def media." I was aware of this fact. This I was not questioning. I had assumed that the HDDVD addon for the 360 would support legacy formats as well, and it seemed you were stating that it would only read HDDVD format. Do you know if it does or does not read legacy formats?
I do not own either console, but since I am not planning on adopting HDTV anytime soon(unless one of my tv's dies and costs more than the price of a new HDTV to repair) so to ME, the PS3 Blu-ray would have only one purpose: to play PS3 games. Since I don't need to pay the price for a drive I have no use for, the 360 would make more sense to me. With Sony's record of dropping the ball when it comes to proprietary formats, I think I'll avoid the PS3. If I eventually adopt HDTV, I will step back and reevaluate.
"People certainly read on the box that the PS3 supports Blu-Ray, but it means nothing except to very few. The HDDVD addon for the 360 is in a worse boat as that is it's ONLY function"
I am confused. What else does the Blu-Ray drive on the PS3 support besides cd's, dvd's and Blu-Ray? Are you saying that the HDDVD addon for the 360 does not support the older formats also? This is news to me. I don't have HD because I'm not enough of a brain damaged lemming to pay the current price, when you know it will fall eventually AND I already have 4 perfectly fine sets. That makes it news I couldn't care less about, but news nonetheless.
He could have meant "right" as in "to correct" and did not want to say "...correct way to correct this..." but rite now as I right this I think your write.
Turbine did thieves extremely well in D&D Online. No pocket picking or stealing, but a lot of dungeons require you to have a great thief in your party to disable traps and pick locks. Their hide/sneak skills can be developed well also. Thieves are not a luxury in that game, and as a result they are highly in demand. Can't do Vault Of Night in House K without a great thief.
Well, can't say I didn't see this day coming. Most movie trailers tell you jack shit about the movie any more. You see come face shots, a couple explosions, some running, but no mention of plot, story or direction (I'm not referring to Director direction, but story direction, indirectly.). I don't watch those movies. I won't play those games.
That's where I got it from, old Looney Toons usage by Bugs Bunny. Rather innocuous, I thought. Are people really that eager to be offended that they jump on a chance for something to be used offensively? Relax. Sometimes when you don't understand something, it might not mean it is an offensive comment. Try taking things in stride and looking things up.
Wrong! Buggy games can be funny! Case in point: Pool of Radiance:Ruins of Myth Drannor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pool_of_Radiance:_Rui ns_of_Myth_Drannor When I heard about this game deleting the Windows's System Folder when they uninstalled it, I laughed hysterically. I felt really bad for the people affected by this issue, but the sheer embarrassment of a company having a game so buggy it deleted the Windows's System Folder was hillarious. Its just one reason I like to wait a while before buying most games. Other main reason is that if a game is considered great at a price of 50-60 bucks, its fantastic at 25 bucks!
Where I went to school, a Master's degree in IS was the equivalent of a Bachelor's in CS. I think it works (for the most part) that way on resumees and CV's too. I think that puts it into clear perspective for you.
Try checking out Home of the Underdogs If they don't have it, they have links to a lot of other "Abandonware" sites. You are not alone, lots of us are looking for old games too!
Brouwer said his Xbox 360 scratched two games, "Gears of War" and "Madden NFL 07," and that Microsoft offered to replace them for a $20 (14.63) fee. He is seeking more than $5 million (3.66 million) in damages, according to the court filing.
"As your lawyer, I advise you to sue for $5 million over two damaged games that would retail for $120 in mint condition."
What a maroon! Why even take a case like this? How about asking for your money back for the discs and/or the console if you're so displeased? This goes beyond excessive... I could see this having some balls if say, the x-box killed his dog and stole his wife, but 2 scratched games??? Lets all pitch in and buy this wastrel the 2 games just to shut him up.
The lawsuit also cites investigations of similar consumer complaints conducted by a Dutch television program, which found that one of nine consoles tested scratched a disc after five hours of play. Oh, this sounds professional. I always trust investigations done in countries where the testers can smoke all the doobs they want. Makes sense to me. "Hey, let me use that disc to roll one Hansel!"

This has been going on for millions of years! How is this news?
Oh, it's a new discovery... Well, didn't I hear about this a few weeks ago over on Slashdot?
Oh, I am on Slashdot? I must have forgotten. Deja Vu...
How about we just make the parents pay to re-integrate the little shits? Either that or just give them lethal injection. That'll teach 'em real good.

There was one also where D'Argo was out in space without a suit for an extended amount of time. But Luxans are like that.
Bigger tubes!!
I can't wait for Al Gore to invent it!

Does this mean that Amazon rainforest music is endangered?
