"Today, Congress voted to update the rules that have governed financial services since the Great Depression and replace them with a system for the 21st century. This historic legislation will better enable American companies to compete in the new economy.", said the Treasury secretary in 1999.
That's impossible. That would mean a Democrat (Larry Summers) said it. Oh wait, Obama, the smartest President America's ever had, trusted him as well...
I was in the same boat. I've never really worked out and work from home, so I was either in a chair or on the couch. Then I turned to bodyweight training, which doesn't require going to the gym or weights, so it can be done anywhere.
Currently I'm following Convict Conditioning, which only takes minutes a day, and excersizes like squats, pushups, bridges, and the early leg raise series can be done right at your desk. So now I still don't work out much, but I'm more muscular and stronger than I've ever been in my life.
After all these years, could we please get this right? His name is Linux Torvalds, it's the operating system that's called Linus! You know, like the kid on Peanuts?
And a category 1 at that. This is the tyranny of Yankees running the media. If it snows it's `White Doom 2012`, and if it rains it either a `Perferct Storm` or a `Superstorm`. Good gosh, I sat through three hurricanes in a row back in 2004 and it obviously wasn't the end of the world.
Ah yes, the perfect illustration of the reason why some may dislike "intellectuals". In two short sentences you managed to include prejudice, elitism, stereotyping, parochialism and get modded +5 to boot. Good for you.
Sounds like a hard nut to crack. Especially since there seems to be a wave of sorts going on:
Eight people were arrested Friday morning for attempting to steal 700 pounds of walnuts from an orchard west of Porterville, the Tulare County Sheriff's Department said.
About 10 a.m. the sheriff's department received a call about a theft in progress at the corner of Avenue 152 and Road 208 and arrived in time to stop the would-be walnut robbers. The walnuts were recovered at the orchard. Some were already loaded in three vehicles, the sheriff's department said.
The owner said he did not give anyone permission to remove walnuts from his orchard. They were valued at $1,020.
If you're not a caucasian you should be able to ditch your cell phone and any identifying papers and disappear into the background. In the US at least, if you're Hispanic you can probably run all over the country and no one will seriously stop or detain you, regardless of documentation. Even if local enforcement does, claim to be illegal and the Feds will likely release you. At best the government will even send you out of the country "back" to Mexico. From there it's to any country you want.
There's no easy answer for family though, but keep in mind that they can't be stopped from leaving US soil, only prevented from entering.
Think about the source folks. I'm an ex-Navy man so it pains me to say, but to me it seems obvious what's going on here. Ask yourself, does it benefit the Navy or Marines if we standardize on a subset of airframes? Who do you think would be the major driver of those designs? It's going to be the Air Force, and the needs of the fleet are going to come second to theirs.
Next, the Admiral himself brings up aircraft carriers, a platform not known for its stealthiness. In fact, pretty much any Navy ship designed for stealth is going to be smaller and have a small crew as well. He's defending his turf and his budget, which in a sense is very much his job as CNO. Or at least that's my take.
Off the top of my head with no assistance from that other wiki, I believe it is
England: Specifically England Great Britain: The island of Great Britain (non-inclusive of surrounding isles) United Kingdom: Refers to the union of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Island
I've discussed this with an Englishman as well and he also seemed somewhat long winded and confused.
Any reason why Viacom or any other such wastewater producer can't just switch to streaming all their shows? I know not everyone has a computer, but I don't see why `channels` can't cut out the middle man in some instances and go directly to end users on a contract type basis. Maybe simulcast on cable for those that care and streaming only for those that want a la carte. Seems like a revenue source waiting to be tapped.
"+5 Insightful"? Who mods this crap? Guess what, if Obama's administration kept the operation running under their watch, THEY are responsible. It doesn't matter who started it, that's a child's logic. Time machine indeed.
The author of the TFA implies that the University cut the CS program to bank roll athletics. In fact, the athletic department receives NO funding at all from the school! Not only that, the athletic department gifts the school $6-$8MM annually, and has previously upped the contribution to help the university not have to make cuts.
IMHO the science is a minor part of it with regards to the public. It's the fact that there is a perception that certain ideologies have seized upon GW as a free ticket to further their agendas of limiting economic and public activity and increasing the interference and power of government within our lives. The natural reaction of the competing ideology is to discredit the basis of this power grab.
Economically, with the general decline the G20 is experiencing, as the most advanced nations they would bear the brunt of this new philosophy of "sustainability", which would be suicide for them.
Politically, specifically in America, there's a reason progressives embrace GW and conservatives do not. It provides a cover for some of their longest desired goals. Further centralization of government, extreme enviromentalism, and anti-capitalism.
Science is just a patsy for both sides in this argument.
When the prosecutor took the case out of the hands of the grand jury it guaranteed an "arrest by petition". I agree with your assessment of what he should have been charged with. The fact that he got 2nd degree murder seems to be the State's way of saying we charged him with something, but the bar for it is so high no jury will convict.

They seemed to have missed a bittorrent client in the list of features. How about letting me load up what *I* want to watch from the device, instead of what *you* want me to watch. Plus, if they can't mount shares, how can you connect the one upstairs with the one downstairs? These things can't stream to each other?
On another note, it seems odd my old PCH A110 can still "out feature" some of these newer players on the market. It plays from samba, nfs, or upnp shares, includes a bittorrent client, and of course handles almost any format you can throw at it. Of course, it's also very long in the tooth by now.

What race or ethnicity is a dwarf?
FFS, if that's the textbook definition of racism, please define prejudice! Words mean things, that's why we have different words for different things.
Only it's not, it's prejudice. Too many people confuse the two.

Sheesh...
Thanks for the informative reply. I stand corrected.

You must be new here.

I agree. It's like how economists are always so shocked that girls with the least principle always seem to draw the most interest.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
and again...
Being poor in America is definitely a weird thing...

No one forced him to become President.

So it's OK to decry the dropping of a major department, but don't let the story get spun by the ignorant or those with an agenda.

After which come the riots....
And yet Fry's Electronics is still going strong, has a great selection, and is really the only big box electronics store I'll go into.
Yes, they have a small army working the floor, just like BB, but unlike BB they aren't obnoxious or constantly harassing you*.
Here's what BB should do: Look at what Fry's is doing, and DO THAT!
*I understand from previous /. stories that this behavior is mostly the fault of the management, so apologies to the conscientious BB employees.
