There is no reason at all to rewire a Nintendo controller to work in an Atari 2600. The Saga master system controllers are compatable with the Atari 2600 without modification. Its fun to play Sonic with the 2600 joystick.
Both consoles sold out you say? Thats rather amusing considering that the last 2 Funco Land stores that I have been in still have Gamecubes in stock, but no X-Boxes.
Could just be the market in my area is having trouble selling Gamecubes for some reason. Of course, I do live in low income L.A., makes me wonder why they would have more in sotck of the cheaper console.
Those phones may emit a bland beep with their external speaker, mine does, but they do have to send to proper tones to the phone company to connect the call. You're just not positioning the phone such that you can hear the tone while dialing.
"It's kind of like buying a ford Focus, and spend a lot of money and time souping up the engine"
And you've never seen a Honda Civic that had a modified exhaust, rear spolier, modified front air dam, turbo-charger, nitrous...
Its the exact same mind set. People don't want to buy fast, they want to buy something that they can make fast. Its a personal accomplishment that way. Anyone can buy a fast car, how many people can make a slow one fast? Anyone can buy a fast processor, how many people can make a slow one fast?
You can't quad, nor eight proc a Pentium 3. They simply don't have the support for it. Dual is all they were ever meant to do.It takes a Xeon processor to do more than 2. Also, look at the spec the article gives to the chip carefully. 128KB cache. Thats a celeron, not a Pentium 3.
Q3A does max out these cards, simply don't run them at 640x480. I have a GeForce and Celeron 450 and only manage 45fps average at 1024x768x16 with all the bells and whistles turned on.
Difference being that with the GeForce, the card's memory doesn't have to be split up among the processors. Load a Quake 3 level with 15 MB of textures on a V5 and you lose 30MB of card memory. Each texture has to be loaded separately for each processor. Reminds me of my old Voodoo2, with 4 meg for each texture processor and 4 for the frame buffer totaling 12 MB.
You will never get 200+ fps in UT and Q3, no matter how fast the cpu is. And dual wouldn't help UT anyway, it isn't multi threaded. You would be fill rate limited, unless you found a way to get your GeForce in a resolution like 150x113 or so, which I doubt.

Wow, I want your life. I live with my girlfriend and I can't have sex whenever I want.
And furthermore, why would someone who can have sex 24 hrs a day whenever he wants ever even consider watching other people? Honest question.

Besides, if you wait a bit, there are generic GameCube's comming out that will be full DVD players, as well.
Um, Resident Evil is a rip off of Alone in the Dark.
The only problem I see with that concept is, do you consider software faulty if it has been patched to the point where it is useable?

Someone correct me if I am wrong...

However, even if the EV6 bus can handle 400MHz, no Athlon runs them at the frequency. Go check out the specs on the Athlon, 200MHz bus.
