Where do you get many of the natural resources that just don't exist in large quantities in your country(at dirt cheap prices) from? Did you know that you guys can buy Canadian lumber at cheaper prices than Canadians can?

You guys have been living the high life on the backs of honest Canadians for YEARS. It's hilarious how we supposedly have free trade with you guys, yet it doesn't really work bidirectionally, does it? If we buy something from you, we pay taxes. If you buy something from us ... no duties at all. That's really neat. It gets even better when you guys pass some half-baked legislation like the DMCA and we're expected to follow it by proxy.

Have a nice day. Hope a jumbo jet crashes into your house.

During the last two years, financial corporations fighting Speier's privacy measure have engaged in a wide variety of lobbying activities aimed at currying influence with legislators. Much of the lobbying involved buying meals, hosting parties or providing favors for politicians and their staffs, ranging from business lunches and dinners all the way to the $24,078 golf game in Santa Cruz that lobbyists for the American Electronics Association last year provided a group of legislative aides.

Why is this not considered a bribe? An even better question - why are the politicians in question not being prosecuted for it. You'd think stuff like this would be illegal.

Windows 2000 is pretty stable, as far as i'm concerned. I don't have any serious complaints about it so it has nothing to do with the software itself. It has everything to do with its creator.

So for me, a hardcore gamer, WineX makes the transition to Linux that much easier. I run Linux almost exclusively (it now takes up the lions share of my hard drive) with a very small Windows partition for some applications, and even though only a few games that I like actually work under it I hope to one day get rid of Microsoft products once and for all.

I do not want Linux to act just like Windows ... WineX doesn't do that anyway.

Is the PR rating any worse than Intels' fostering of the "MHz is the only reliable indication of processor speed" mindset?

They are using the same tactic that Intel used with the release of the P3 1 GHz - announcing its release without delivering it to the market. Granted it's not going to take 4+ months to get the product to market but there is no doubt that AMD is playing dirty here.

The PR rating, which I can understand AMD using, should probably be scrapped right now since it isn't as accurate as it used to be. I'm not sure what other solution exists that would put AMD in a better light in the minds of the average user. A non-descriptive model number maybe?
