    The US has the second highest corporate tax in the world, maybe if they lower it, US companies wouldnt have to look offshore to get some relief... this would also help keeping US jobs in the US.

    I didnt say there doesnt need to be any reform, Copyright needs to be more in line with patents, or a "pay to protect" scheme, where in order to keep a copyright, you need to pay a fee after the initial free period

    Most companies don't like spending money just for the sake of spending money, they have XP in the enterprise right now, and it works, and it doesnt require machine upgrades either. there is no compelling reason to make the switch.

    I dont like the gov't doing things like this, not because I distrust the guy implementing them in the first place, but what about the next guy, or the guy after that?

    Let's just say for an instant that Bush really was on the "up and up" on these wiretaps, who is to say the next guy, or the guy after him won't use them for more nefarious deeds?

    I feel this way about all laws and actions by the gov't... what may sound "good" now can easily be turned against us later.

    no one would buy the new format, 78s->LPs->Cassettes->CDs was a logical path, as the formats either became more convenient (cassette over LP) or the quality was better (CD over cassette). there is no valid reason to change formats on the consumer side, even Blu-Rays are having trouble, even though they are "better", because to most people there is not enough of a difference from DVDs.

    also, I want to know a breakdown of what era the music is being purchased from... the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s or the current decade? Im guessing a big reason for the drop in CD sales is people have filled out their CD collections/replaced all their cassette tapes

    I dont know about now, but when I worked at Computer City, we rarely broke even on the sale of a new computer... accessories and extended warranties made up the difference
