Throw that bad boy in a nice case with some ram and a decent hard drive, and it's not a bad deal. You could probably put together a machine with maxed out ram, decent storage and a much more attractive case for the same amount if not less than you'd pay for the Walmart version. And while the processor isn't a powerhouse, I'm sure any distro could do allright on there. Gentoo might not be the best choice, but otherwise... (Just kidding there. While the gentoo crowds seem to have calmed - it really was a joke.)
I have not used Leopard - so this is a real question, not a snarky response. My understanding was that a large part of what makes the whole Time Machine work and worthwhile is the interface. So if you don't have that, isn't it just another backup tool? Let me reiterate - this isn't a rhetorical question. Is doing the same thing without the interface sufficient or is it missing the point?
At my last job, when the CIO was fired all hush-hush and mysterious like, it was because he was stealing. They didn't want that out and made a deal for him to pay back the money rather than go to jail. I think you are right - it was something along those lines.
The tie to Yeats is so loose it isn't funny. Yeats was working with themes common to humanity and so of course there will be some overlap - but the entire thing seems to argue against itself at least half the time. And the end? Didn't even make sense. So I'll give it points for bringing attention to great poetry - but that's about it.
Or he'll grow up and at some point develop some all on his own. I don't think we learn all our prejudices as children. I don't think we learn all our prejudices at all. I think we can come up with them all on our own.
I'm not sure how the two follow. Proving that prejudice is the fault of adults and then saying that prejudice can be ended by dealing with children? Doesn't make sense to me. Where did the prejudice come from and what will keep it from coming back?
I'm a bit short on time - but I'm guessing most states do something similar to what is described here for the state of Texas. It looks like people who vote in a primary can vote for delegates who vote for members of the committee- but like I said, I'm in a rush right now.
You keep believing he is different and supporting him. That's good. Me - I've done that in the past and learned what a disappointment it is. I consider him to be 'one of those people' based on his position in the party. You can consider me cynical but I've been watching politics for too long to imagine that anyone who has risen that high in either party is good for much of anything.
As for his voting record - just for future reference - I wouldn't go around telling people there are no instances where he has voted against civil liberties when he is against the second amendment. (I'm not going to debate the gun issue - I'm just pointing out that for many Americans, this is a civil liberty issue whether you like it or not.) And showing the voting record backs up my position that he is just another career politician doing what is expedient for his career - hence all those NVs that I see on things that should have been a no brainer.
I saw this yesterday and was considering if it would as the next pc for my parents. I don't think so - for one reason, powerpoint. But my folks might be a little unusual with that requirement. I also wonder if my dad could sync his palm to it.
Then we'd need to make sure that their printers are going to work all right. And I'd probably need to teach them how to use new software for printing photos. The more I think about it, as much as I hate to say it, the less I think it would work.
I'm not even sure that Nigeria is a real country. I keep sending government officials there money - and they keep saying I'll be rich but it never happens. How do you bribe people like that?
If you think that the next administration - Republican or Democrat - is going to be substantially different, you haven't been paying attention for very long.
The death of a certain type of chemistry set. There are a pretty wide number of sets available including the specific kit mentioned in TFA (Chem C3000) and the reviews there both mention the difficulty in gathering some of the materials necessary to doing the expirements. I don't think it is just terrorism though. Terrorism, a litigious society, the war on drugs - I think any one alone would have probably been enough, and we've got all three.
I wonder if this might signal an opportunity for some entrepeneur to develop a virtual chem lab. It's not exactly the same, but at least it would give kids an opportunity to learn and explore. It could also offer features you wont find in any real chemistry set. Nice graphics showing what is going on on a much lower level. A virtual professor to help out and explain. Tools and materials that are too expensive or that really would be too dangerous.
Yeah - I could go that route - or Oracle's version. But I think Fedora works very nicely as a desktop distro, and I get to play around with newer features that I would never have on my servers. So I have a similar architecture and tools, but on what feels to me, a more desktop friendly setup.

Wing Commander 3 kicked ass. I bought a new PC for that game.
I was going to be very impressed, but you didn't link to Quark.
You sir, win a cupie doll.

and they put me in the middle of a room full of toddlers.
Life? Don't talk to me about life.

Probably in the primaries - by registered voters - I'll see what I can find.
I am pretty sure that the state executive committee members are elected to hold those positions.

That's what I mean by paying attention. What these people say and what they do are completely unrelated.
Yeah - I bought my dad a new laptop this year and ordered it with xp.
