You'd be surprised. I've found a couple of times that if you finalize an order or do 1-click about shipping time, the order is instantly locked to changes.
Just don't try and take it on a plane eh? "It's not a bomb- just has a lot of wires is all...." "Please don't open that... it's worth more than a house."
apparently, I can't type. I switched to dvorak recently and I'm a bit dyslexic and apparently when I was touch typing qwerty, my muscles learned to compensate with delays to un-transpose letters and I'd be watching the screen to automatically correct errors anyway.. now I'm 50% touch typing and seem to be missing lots of errors and then getting too excited to preview I guess. I'm not a total idiot, I promise!
IMHO white collar crime should result in fines and possibly house arrest. Real crimes should land you in real prison. I think with as good as home arrest tracking devices are, they could let a lot of the lesser crimes folks out of jail and put them on house arrest with some other kind of punishment since house arrest, while totally a nuisance (on purpose of course) and wearing the bracelet makes sex less fun and all that, it still isn't the same kind of punishment.
You're a little late on the google comment. I did call my error immediately, and didn't use any karma or subscriber points. It just wasn't a word I'd heard in my everyday parlance. It seemed like a typo on quarter. What's your beef?
I once made an allegation that Signs (film) literally copied the alien sounds from ST:TNG "Schisms"- it was deleted for lack of citation. Just watch the episode and the movie- how's that for a citation?
That's a totally irrelevant article in the sceme of things, but it became a burr under my saddle for some reason and it illustrates my point. Wikipedia houses more than just pure scientific/historical matter.
I do get what you're saying though- I just think there is sometime room for claims like that and people sometimes go overboard with the citation needed crap. Other people can validate things like that themselves. If you don't know for sure its not true, don't remove it?
My main beef with wikipedia is that some people have firt hand or original, but unpbulished information. I've seen many truths deleted for lack of a reference. Can no one make an original discovery without having to get it printed in a book?
and fwiw- my machine isn't $5k, but Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 2x3.0GHz 4GB RAM (2x2GB DDR2 800) 2x750GB Seagate SATA (mirror) 2x400GB Seagate SATA (mirror) 2x200GB Seagate PATA (stripe) 2x120GB Seagate PATA (os disks 1xVista, 1xXP) 750W power supply ATI Radeon X1900XT from a while ago- only bought it for the dual dvi at the time- I don't do games except an hour or two of half life every few months.
Finding a mac that I could even move my drives to would be tough- let alone pushing the 3.0GHz mark. Now add in all the software.
My point was I've got good (and recent) capital in a fairly hefty desktop machine and I wouldn't settle for anything less horsepower wise at this point. I just 'downgraded' from vista due to some instability and incompatibility as well as a lack of driver support from Asus. I'd love to switch to a mac, but to get even close to the level of performance I've got (custom built btw, not dell), I'd need to spend nearly $5k with tax. I just can't justify that when I've got so much invested. I don't need a new wachine, just a new OS- and no, Linux doesn't interest me for my desktop box (have many servers though) - call me when Adobe Master Collection is available. Applications support is just not where I need it for Linux. The Gimp is cool and all, but I take professional product photos and do some website work- there just isn't what I need outside of the two main platforms. Hardware aside, I'd have to repurchase a ton of software. Next time my machine dies and it coincides with a major lifecycle of my main applications, I'll think about it- but getting all that to line up so I don't wait too long or overspend is tough. Its always a crunch when hardware needs replacing, and I usually upgrade a piece at a time- rarely do I outright replace my main machine. I've got a Mac G4 (450 Mhz) here with Tiger on it that I purchased, and that keeps me afloat when my intel box is busy or broken and keeps me wishing my pc ran as well, but its just too big a leap. If OS X would run on my main PC, I'd at least dual boot until all my software could be purchased.
yes they do, but digital is a better price. I still want album art, but I want a CD I can rip (no non redbook thanks)- digital is often easier. I buy the single I like on itunes then wait till the CD is $9 and buy it.
I -hate- one click anyway. For Amazon Video, it either geos to the wrong TiVo or to a desktop I no longer have and for real products it uses the wrong card for the money I have that week. I use Amazon a lot, but I hate and will never use one click.

true- i didnt mean to imply a totaly absolute/equal sentencing.
Hi, my name is Vinny, I'll be your lawyer because I think you have an excellent case. I'll need $2000 up front to get us a hearing.

What is quartile?

change #5 or add #6 and you might have something there:
#5) they ate cowboy neal
or
#6) they sued cowboy neal
or something.
just milti-point PPP- no special hardware. IIRC, I had this working in windows 95 with no special drivers.
I got dibs on sco.com!

Hey, you're not supposed to put on -that- many!
and fwiw- my machine isn't $5k, but

I'd install / buy OS X if I could, but I don't own a mac and I can't afford $5k for the same machine i've got thatll run OS x.

at least its not HD-VD. Thats a fever i dont want to catch!
