    The desire to learn, explore, escape from all the problems 'down here', launch big missiles from space, mine other planets, use other planets as dustbins, rip off other cultures, fight new people, and finaly our 'ttle planet only has a limited life time, some day our sun will go BOOM and (unless we have moved on) we'll all go splat.

    delete any attachment thats not

    if I sold you a house, with the condition that you are NOT alowed to paint it blue, then you can't paint it blue. Even though it's not my house anymore.

    Same goes with software, its just software nearly always comes with 'can't paint it blue, red, green...' strings.

    to 'sell' it to geeks.

    PS2 has to compete with the XBox (x86, _should_ not be hard to "port" linux to and the Cube, they need to make it look like people are buying the box, so developers will be more willing to develop games.

    From a geek (and a 'wanna-be geek') POV it's very worthwhile, you get a Linux box, and something to play games on (be honest now, Linux does not (yet) have the games.

    Even more so for the wanna-be, as you will not have to scream and shout at XF86Config/x86configure.sh/ vi /etc/x[tab] to get X to work, as, well only on graphics card. ;)

    Do you ever see a BSOD on a cashpoint - I haven't?
    Head on over to the Universty Of Bradford, and watch Natwest Hole-In-The-Wall on campus. It had an uptime of less than a week.

    It throws new errors each week from BSOD's to kernal32.dll...

    A fun game for all the family.

    I've seen other unix ports about on BSD pages, when looking to 'upgrade' my Qube. (they both use a MIPS proc(i think) so thats one part out the way :)

    after reading up on the GPL, you have the right, as copyright holder, to make exceptions. So if company X for PDAy needs a more aggreable lience just add LGPL.legalObsucifyer("Company X has the right to include unmodified versions compied into there application PDAy");
